									Changes to Staffing Codes

The Department of Education and Training will be implementing new staffing
codes for teachers employed in NSW public schools from 27 January 2009.

The list of new codes is available at:

                https://www.det.nsw.edu.au/employment/promotion/

If you are a permanent teacher and wish to amend your subject/teaching codes,
and/or your skills and experience you should to log into Employee Self Service (ESS)
and the select ‘My details’ and ‘My skills’. Follow the prompts to update your codes.
These will be forwarded to your principal or director for consideration and submitted
to Staffing Services if endorsed.

If you are a temporary or casual teacher and wish to amend your:

subject area teaching codes:

•   you will need to complete the Application for Additional Staffing Codes and
    provide relevant documentation such as academic transcripts, experience
    pathway forms or community language fluency certificate to Staffing Services for
    consideration

skills and/or experience codes:

•   you will need to complete the Application for Additional Staffing Codes, including
    the endorsement of a principal of a school where you have undertaken significant
    temporary or casual teaching, that you possess the relevant skill(s) and/or
    experience to a level which equips you to lead and manage whole school
    programs requiring the relevant skill(s) and/or experience

These should be provided to Staffing Services by Friday 23 January 2009 if you wish
to be considered for these new codes from 27 January 2009. They should be
forwarded to:
