This year, we are focusing on Jesus and the plan of Salvation.. Here is a general guidance on using
these notes.

The color “Purple “ will indicate where Jesus has manifested, or is referred to in the old testament.

The color “Blue” indicates the cross references from the Old and new testaments. ( not the kings )

The color “brown” indicates a question…or application

All Personal notes are in black bold type.

Any thing in Red…. That is our danger zone and we should heed the warnings.

Aug 9-15 readings

August 9
              10
Jer 48:1-13 "A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD's work!

YIKES!!!

Jer 22:18-13
Jehoiakim’s burial place is never mentioned.

August 10
Jer 22:24-30 18 Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king
of Judah:

"They will not mourn for him: 'Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!' They will not mourn
for him: 'Alas, my master! Alas, his splendor!' 19 He will have the burial of a donkey-
dragged away and thrown outside the gates of Jerusalem."

Jer 22:24-30 28 Is this man Jehoiachin a despised, broken pot, an object no one wants?
Why will he and his children be hurled out, cast into a land they do not know? 29 O land,
land, land, hear the word of the LORD ! 30 This is what the LORD says: "Record this
man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his
offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah."

Jehoiachin’s curse….What a curse…. A man who will not prosper in his lifetime…

2 chron 36:12-16 15 The LORD , the God of their fathers, sent word to them through his
messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place.
16
But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets
until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.

Key word….. There was no remedy…. We too should be careful how we live
otherwise God is going to give us up…
August 11

Jer24:1-10 5 "This is what the LORD , the God of Israel, says: 'Like these good figs, I
regard as good the exiles from Judah, whom I sent away from this place to the land
of the Babylonians. 6 My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring
them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant
them and not uproot them. 7 I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD
. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all
their heart.

The exile was God’s way of bringing the people back to Him….sometimes, When we
go through stuff, this might be God just trying to get our attention so that we too
might seek Him and return to Him…. But sometimes, its just Satan “shifting us like
wheat “

Jer29:1-23 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you
will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek
me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,"
declares the LORD , "and will bring you back from captivity.

The 2 “prophets”
20
Therefore, hear the word of the LORD , all you exiles whom I have sent away from
Jerusalem to Babylon. 21 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about
Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies to you
in my name: "I will hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will put
them to death before your very eyes. 22 Because of them, all the exiles from Judah who
are in Babylon will use this curse: 'The LORD treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab,
whom the king of Babylon burned in the fire.' 23 For they have done outrageous
things in Israel; they have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives and in my
name have spoken lies, which I did not tell them to do. I know it and am a witness to
it," declares the LORD .

If God judged these 2 “prophets “ in such a manner, can you image what will
happen to modern day pastors and leaders who have completely gone against the
written word of God ?

August 12

Jer23:15-24 23 "Am I only a God nearby," declares the LORD , "and not a God far
away?
24Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?" declares the LORD .
"Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD .

August 13

Jer50:4-10 4 "In those days, at that time," declares the LORD , "the people of Israel
and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the LORD their God. 5 They
will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind
themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

I think this is referring to the spiritual exile that Israel has been on.

This week we start reading some very fascinating stuff from Ezekiel. He describes
awesome things that God showed him, and the sheer majesty, of what ( Jesus ) looks
like in His glorified body is just beyond words! I think when we get to heaven we
will simply be overwhelmed by Him, ( let alone the other strange creatures that live
there…. )

August 14
Jer34:17-22 17 "Therefore, this is what the LORD says: You have not obeyed me; you
have not proclaimed freedom for your fellow countrymen. So I now proclaim 'freedom'
for you, declares the LORD -'freedom' to fall by the sword, plague and famine. I will
make you abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth. 18 The men who have violated my
covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will
treat like the calf they cut in two and then walked between its pieces. 19 The leaders of
Judah and Jerusalem, the court officials, the priests and all the people of the land who
walked between the pieces of the calf, 20 I will hand over to their enemies who seek their
lives. Their dead bodies will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the
earth.

Breaking a covenant that one has freely given to the Lord carries a heavy penalty.

Ezk. 1:4-24
The four creatures: These creatures that “drive” God’s chariot are different from
the creatures mentioned in Ezk. 10:1-22

The creatures mentioned here are as follows:
Front Face Right Left Back Bodies of
                                                                          creatures
First set Face of Face of Face of Face of Form of a man
creatures Ezk. a man a Lion an Ox an Eagle Feet of a calf
1:4-24

2nd set creatures Face of a Face of Face of Face of Bodies were
Ezk. 10:1-22 Cherub a man a Lion an eagle covered with
                    ( angel) eyes, including
                                                                           the wings
The intersected Same in all accounts. The spirit of the creatures was in the wheels…
wheels

Spread above the creatures was some sort of blue platform…and on it, was God’s
throne. Interesting is the sound that the “chariot “ makes …. This is the same
description that Moses and Isaiah gave when they encountered God. Also this is
the same descriptions of the second coming of Jesus, and it is mentioned also in
Revelations.

Cross ref: Exodus 24
9
Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw
the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear
as the sky itself. 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites;
they saw God, and they ate and drank.)

On a personal note,. Call me naïve, I think the blue “expanse” that is before His
throne, is what is reflected back to earth as our “blue” skies. I know what the
“scientist say… but that’s just my “hunch”.. also, the scriptures state that the earth
IS HIS FOOT STOOL…

Cross ref: Isaiah 66:1
This is what the LORD says: "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where
is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

Ezk. 1:25-28
The description of the likeness of the Lord.
From waist up…. Glowing metal, as if full of fire… From waist down… Fire. And
brilliant light surrounded Him. God is also described as “a consuming fire”. Ezekiel saw
Jesus in His Glory… ( I don’t think he saw his full glory… I don’t think as mere humans
in our current state we would be able to. I think He will be more magnificent beyond
words when we eventually see Him… HOW EXCITING!

Cross ref on consuming fire..
   1. Exodus 24:17
To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of
       the mountain.
   2. Deuteronomy 4:24
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
   3. Isaiah 33:14
The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: "Who of us can
dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?"
   4. Hebrews 12:29
for our "God is a consuming fire."

John saw Him also, but up close and personal, and he adds more details as to His
hair, His eyes of fire…His majesty etc. (rev 1:12-16 )

Ezk. 3:16-21 17 "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so
hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked man,
'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil
ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you
accountable for his blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn
from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved
yourself.

We also are like “watchmen” and we are to warn others not only of the coming
Judgment of God, but also of the great news of the free gift of Life though Jesus
Christ.

Ezk. 4:9-17
Sign of defiled food… I am glad that God does allow people to object to His
commands. Could you imagine if he didn’t ? He would then be a dictator….

Ezek. 6:1-14 9 Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who
escape will remember me-how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have
turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will
loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices. 10 And
they will know that I am the LORD ; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on
them.

God is truly grieved when we keep backsliding. Rejection hurts….If you have ever
been rejected, you can identify with this statement. And this is the same thing we do
to God when we turn away from Him.

Next week we will look at Aug 16-22
