Dimensions All dimensions should be in metres to two or three decimal places, except for sails which should be measured to two
decimal places (see Rule 12.1). Yacht weight should be in kilograms. Conversion factors are Feet x 0.3048 = Metres, and Poun

Rig Type Enclose sketch if in doubt.

Rig & Sail Data Wherever possible measurements should be verified by a measurer or sailmaker. Important : P and E are meas

default values will be used, but if widths are over default values (Rule 26.5.3) these must be declared.

STL (SPL) If you race with any downwind sails, or pole out a headsail downwind, then STL must be supplied for the pole, bowsp
tack point on the deck. See definitions.

Headsail Dimensions The LL, LP & HHW measurements of the largest area headsail must be given. In addition we require the
maximum LL of any headsail carried (see Rule 26.7). HHW will be input at 50% of LP but if it is larger than this it must be

Downwind Sails State how many of each type of spinnaker you carry. Carrying a total of more than three downwind sails will
increase the TCC (see Rule 26.6). A cruising chute is an asymmetric spinnaker. If you carry any spinnakers, you must supply
STL measurement.

Rig Features Give the number of pairs of spreaders, jumper struts, runners and checkstays.

IRC - ACCEPTABLE SOURCES OF DATA

IRC is a self-measurement system. There is no requirement either to have your boat officially measured or weighed unless you
Endorsed certificate.

Generally, acceptable sources of data are :

Linear measurements :
Official measurement (RORC or local club measurer) and/or IOR, IMS or IRM measured data
Measurements supplied by a sailmaker (sails)
Owner or representative measurement
Designer or builder data *
Class standard hull data

Weight:
Official weighing on Rating Office loadcell
Weighing on calibrated single point loadcell, preferably verified by an official or club measurer.
Weight derived from IMS, IOR or other rating certificate.
Weighing on weighbridge is usually accepted unless we believe it to be in error.
Designed weight, or derived from designed sailing displacement *
Class standard weight or sistership weighed data.
