MEALS ON WHEELS NEEDS DRIVERS
For those who don't know about Meals on Wheels, let me just say they do a
marvelous job bringing meals to homes when, unfortunately residents
aren't able to cook or make their meals for themselves.
I received a call from one of the people who is involved with coordinating
the drivers for the Meals on Wheels program and they are desperately in
the need of drivers especially during the winter. Naturally during any bad
weather situation, they don't require you to drive. They usually drop off a
few meals in anticipation of bad weather. You can volunteer for any day(s)
and naturally if you can't drive on that day, this isn't a problem.
Drivers are need to deliver meals to ONLY, the adult communities in
Monroe Township like Rosmor, Clearbrook, Concordia and Greenbriar.
Fortunately we don't have anyone living at Regency who requires the
assistance of the Meals on Wheels program.
The food, which is Kosher, is brought to the Concordia shopping center for
distribution to the homes.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can contact Madeline Gray from
the Jewish Services at 609-7979 Ext 2104

AND EVEN NIGHTS ON GOLF COURSES. I JOKED WITH HIM BY SAYING
THAT ANYONE WHO PLAYS 6000 ROUNDS OF GOLF EACH SEASON IS
BOUND TO GET A HOLE IN ONE AND I AM SURPRISED IT ONLY
HAPPENED ONCE THIS SEASON.
GOODIE, YOU NOW JOIN THE LIST OF ELITE GOLFERS OF REGENCY, ON
MY WEBSITE, WHO HAVE GOTTEN A HOLE IN ONE. BOTH YOU AND
JACK BARTON ARE THE ONLY RESIDENTS WHO HAVE GOTTEN 2 HOLE
IN ONE'S. IN BOWLING, IF YOU GET THREE STRIKES IN A ROW, THAT'S
A TURKEY. IN GOLF IF YOU GET 3 HOLE IN ONE'S, WELL, THAT'S JUST
THE MOSQUITO MAN
At Regency we have the Photography Man (Bernie Schwartz); the recent
hole in one man (Goodie Mollen); the Men's Club man (Rich Lans) and now
we have a Mosquito man (Mo, the Man, Adler). What makes Mo the
Mosquito Man? Well he has found a sure cure for getting rid of those
annoying little insects called MOSQUITO'S.
What's the cure - and he will be checking it out - LISTERINE. The bottle is
much cheaper then any of the mosquito repellents but MO, Ron has a great
idea to make it cost even less and make it even more effective. In the
morning when you wake up and rinse your mouth with LISTERINE, instead
of emptying your mouth into a sink, empty the contents of your mouth into
a spray bottle. I think this will work more effectively since there are
mornings when I open my mouth that all the insects within a 30 mile radius
leave Regency. My other question is who is opening up the front gate to
allow mosquito's to come in?
A THANK YOU FROM THE YESNER'S
To all our Regency friends: Thank you so much for all your calls, cards,
food & gifts after my recent surgery. Larry & I are so fortunate to be living
at Regency and to have all of you as our extended family.
SLOW DOWN LANE IN FRONT OF REGENCY
I know some of you have seen a right turn lane coming into Regency. Here
is what it is all about and who was the person responsible
You might have noticed as of Tuesday, 9/13 at our main entrance on RT522
the County redrew the breakdown lane to make it a deceleration lane for
us. This will avoid being hit in the rear while slowing down to enter
Regency, and will avoid our Resident's from getting tickets for driving in
the breakdown lane. You ask how was this accomplished? During the past
two months some of our Residents were holding coffee's in their homes to
REGENCY EMAILER Page 3 of 5
meet Steve Dalina the canidate for ward 3, our ward who is running for
Joann Connelly's seat since she is retiring after 21 years of service.
Evidently at some of these meetings some of our residents told Steve of
the problem when slowing to turn into Regency. Steve had promised to
speak with his Father Pat Dalina who is the Middlesex County Freeholder
Director about how this lane could be remarked into a deceleration lane for
Regency. Pat Dalina looked into it and was able to get approval and it was
taken care of within 2 weeks of the approval.
As many of you know, I no longer get involved with HOA. Internet services
are basically non-HOA so writing to you about what is happening is
something that I would do. We are again experiencing the same problem
of some residents paying higher rates then other residents for Blast 16. It
has nothing to do with the promotions running at different times since we
have found that on the same day you can have two different prices.
My suggestion, if you receive a price that is $40 or more, you must take an
ACTIVE role in negotiating with Comcast. Tell them others are getting
better prices; tell them you might go to DSL and then you can tell
them..............................(I'll let you fill in the blanks). You would think that
they would NOT play the game of, one price for you and another price for
your neighbor. The funny part is that this was just on Channel 4 news.
Some lady complained about having to "threaten" Comcast in order to get
a better price. She recommended contacting their Retention Dept since
they usually have the ability of giving out better prices.
As far as being charged for digital converter box installation, I spoke with
Charlie and he said that there should be no charge for installation. So if
you are charged, contact Comcast. If you have any problems with this or
anything dealing with the HOA, please contact Kieve and/or Charlie as they
are our HOA representatives.
