PISCES AND COUNCIL OF MORTGAGE LENDERS TO COLLABORATE

E-commerce in the property sector has taken a significant step forward, with
PISCES and the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) agreeing to collaborate.

PISCES, the e-standards body for real estate, today announced that they had
signed a Collaboration Agreement with CML.

Roger de Boehmler, Director General of PISCES, said ‘Both the CML and
PISCES recognise the importance of enabling increased e-commerce in the
housing and mortgage markets. This increased level of collaboration and co-
ordination will improve services and reduce costs for lenders and their
customers.’

Jackie Bennett, Head of Policy at the Council of Mortgage Lenders said ‘The
CML fully supports the PISCES initiative, which is developing technology
standards to allow mortgage industry systems to connect seamlessly. A
number of our members already work with PISCES and we are encouraging
all CML members to adopt the PISCES Standard for their own information
exchange needs and assist PISCES by contributing their expertise to the
development of the PISCES Standard. This will continue the improvements
that lenders are making to increase efficiency by the use of technology..’

PISCES will be providing CML members with invitations to participate in
PISCES’ Workgroups, such as that planned for the new Residential Valuations
Standard (including AVMs). PISCES will also regularly seek the views of CML
members on the future development of the Standard.

The Collaboration Agreement is attached.
