Are these plausible? Identifying community-based alternatives:  Where do members of the selected population gather? Get information? Look for leadership?  What neighborhood settings interact with population members? (Churches, schools, restaurants)  Who has a stake in the population’s success?  Who has a relationship with the issue because of the work they do?  Who has relevant resources (knowledge, equipment, technology, etc.)?  How can members of the selected population be engaged as assets? When identifying and influencing decision makers:  Be clear about the exact change you are trying to make.  Determine who is/are in the best position to bring about the change.  Learn what’s working for you, and what’s against you.  Identify alternative approaches to create your change. Integrate the approaches for influencing all of the changes you seek. For the complete West Valley Community Scan Report please go to: http://www.vsuw.org Questions?
