Termination

Q: How Should a dome be terminated ?

A: The RS485 line should be terminated with 120Ω at either end, therefore if the control end is terminated
the last dome on a line should be terminated. If the control end is not terminated then two domes or two
daisy chains can be connected to the same port and termination is put on the end of each line.

TM99INT/1 is terminated internally with resistor R1, which is the middle resistor above the orange plug
      where the RS485 is connected.

Q: A system has an MM500TXA controller, a protocol converter and two domes how should it / can it be
    terminated.
A: Could be terminated in two ways, the two domes could be connected in a daisy chain with the last dome
terminated, or the two domes could be both be connected to the output port on the protocol converter,
both be terminated and the termination removed from the protocol converter.
Q: A system has an MM500/TD8 with 6 domes connected to the RS485 bus individually how they should
    be terminated?
A: All the domes on the system should be terminated, the jumpers inside should be switched to
unterminated if two domes are connected on the same line, if only one dome is connected to a line that
    line should be terminated.

Operating TM99 controller

Q: How do you store and recall presets using a TM99 controller.
A: Store presets by having key switched backwards (clockwise) and enter NUMBER PRST, recall by having
key switched forwards (anticlockwise) and enter NUMBER PRST.

Setting up TM99 controllers

Q: How do you set up a master controller to poll 1 Alarm Interface and 2 Slaves.
A: Switch key backwards and set AUTO 13 to 1 and AUTO 14 to 2.

Q: How do you change which monitor the autosequence is on.
A: Change AUTO 15 to required number.

Operating MM500 Controllers.

Q: How do you tell a dome to patrol on path 2.
 A: Enter 2 PATRL.
Q: How do you tell a dome to autosequence a Monitor and how can you find out which monitors are
    Autosequencing.
A: To start autosequence Enter monitor number then SEQ, to find out which monitors are sequencing press
    and hold SEQ.

Setting up MM500 controllers

Q: How do you get into the menu on an MM500TX controller?
A: The default code for getting into the menu on an MM500 controller is 9999 ENTER, this can however be
changed in the menu by the installer.
Q: How is an MM500TX controller setup to poll slave controllers?
A: Enter the menu, select User Setup or System Install, scroll through to No Of Slaves.

Wiring controllers to Secure Solutions Matrix

Q: How do you connect a controller to a Secure Solutions Matrix.
A: If you are connecting a TM99 or MM500TX controller they must be connected to the matrix via a
TM99INT/1, which is connected to the Master Port on the Matrix.
If an MM500TXA or MM500TXB controller is being used then they can be connected directly to the
Master Port of the Matrix with a D-connector lead wired with pins 1&6 straight through from the Comms
    Port of the controller.

Connecting Protocol Converters
Q How do you connect a protocol converter into a system
A This depends on the configuration of the system.

Connect the RS232 or RS485 from the Matrix to the Port 1 of the Protocol converter and connect the
Slave port to the Mercer Domes. Ensure that the Protocol converter Slave port is Terminated. Note - if
Klippon connector are on the Protocol Converter, they are used instead of the Slave Port.
