AU/ UNAMID Inaugural Seminar for African Business Community Opens Tomorrow
                               in Addis Ababa


Addis Ababa, 12 April 2010: The African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with
the United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID), will tomorrow 13 April 2010,
hold an inaugural Seminar for African businessmen and women at the headquarters of the
African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Holding under the theme: “Demystifying African Union and United Nations Procurement
Procedures and Market” the will bring together the African business community to discuss
the procurement rules and regulations of the AU and UN agencies in the award of
contracts.

The seminar aimed at informing the African business community on the United Nations
and African Union business opportunities in terms of available contracts. as well as
highlight the vendor registration process amongst others. Feedback from the participants
will enable a more transparent and fair distribution of AU – UN contracts.




Journalists are invited to cover the official opening ceremony of the AUC-UNAMID
inaugural Business Seminar tomorrow, Tuesday 13 April 2010, at 8:30 am. as well
as the closing ceremony at 4 pm, same day.
