THE PAMELA MAUS CONTEST IN CREATIVE WRITING
The Pamela Maus Contest was established with an endowment by Ron and Shirley Maus to honor the memory of their daughter, Pamela Ingebar Maus, who was an English major at UC Davis with an interest in creative writing. Prizes are cash awards funded by the interest from the endowment. Judges are appointed by the contest chairperson.
Contest Rules
Deadline: Qualifications:
Monday, December 1, 2008
Contestants must be undergraduates with declared majors in either English or Comparative Literature.
Entries per person: Only one entry per author per genre. One author may submit in
both fiction and poetry, under separate entry forms.
Fiction:
One or more completed works not to exceed 30 total doublespaced pages. From one to a maximum of six poems not to exceed 12 total pages. The primary goal of the Pamela Maus Contest is to encourage previously unpublished writers. Entries must not have been previously published and must be the original work of the contestant. Entries will not be returned, and publication rights remain with the author. Entries should be typed.
Poetry: Miscellaneous:
The author’s name must not appear on the manuscript.
