A number of parents approached me on the Carnival Day expressing interest in the house caps. I intend to place a new order for next years zone caps in the silicone quality rather than the thinner latex and I would like to know if there are any parents/caregivers interested in purchasing a house cap for their child for next year’s School Swimming Carnival. I have discussed the idea of the students being able to identify each other by house colour with Mrs Machan, just as they can do with Athletics by wearing a T-Shirt in their house colour and we thought this might be a good idea to keep up the team spirit. A coloured brochure showing what the caps would look like will be on the school noticeboard at the front of the hall. Apart from needing to know the quantity required, I also need your responses to the quality (either silicone or latex) the cost of the latex is approximately half that of the silicone. If you are interested in purchasing caps, please complete the tear off slip below and return it tho Mrs Machan. Cost per cap: Silicone $8-00 approximately Latex $4-00 approximately Thank you Donna Cooper ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Swimming Carnival Caps Child’s Name__________________________________________ Class___________ Sport’s House_________________________________________ I am interested in purchasing: A Silicone Cap A Latex Cap for the Annual Athletics Carnival, on the 23rd February, 2010. The recommended quantities are: 2 serves of fruit 5 serves of vegetables To help parents meet the recommended daily servings, Crunch and Sip begins next week, Monday 24th August, at Rouse Hill Public School. What is Crunch and Sip? Crunch and Sip is a program that promotes healthy eating as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. How can children participate? Children will be able to eat fresh fruit or vegetables and have a drink of water during class time, as part of their daily routine. The time will be set by the class teacher. Times will vary from class to class. How can parents help? Parents will need to provide fresh fruit or vegetables (such as carrot sticks) and a bottle of plain water, in addition to your child’s recess and lunch. The children will not be allowed to eat processed food of any kind during this time. Please peel and cut any difficult to open fruit, such as oranges, and place in a clip-lock bag or container. Please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs Hardy with any questions. Do all children have to participate? No, however teachers will be encouraging children to participate and we hope parents will too. We are looking forward to lots of healthy crunching and sipping. PDHPE Committee J. Miezis G.
