Lecturer in the Mathematics of
Finance

Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics & Applied Mathematics is a large and dynamic
establishment with over thirty faculty members. We seek to make a new appointment
as soon as possible.
Applications are invited for a post at the level of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate
Professor. The Department participates in a Master’s Programme in Mathematics of
Finance and teaches the applications of Stochastic Calculus to Finance and Numerical
Methods.
The successful candidate would be expected to teach courses in Stochastic Calculus to
Finance and/or Numerical Methods, as well as other areas in Mathematics. He/she
would be expected to contribute to the administration of the Master’s Programme in
Mathematical Finance, to supervise student dissertations and to conduct research.
 Candidates must be in possession of a PhD in the Mathematical Sciences. At Senior
Lecturer level, evidence of independent postdoctoral research is required, whilst
at Associate Professor level, a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the
ability to provide research leadership.
