					                                          Cloverbud Sewing Class
                                                      (Ages 5 – 8)

                                          Offered by Henderson County 4-H

                                       Open to girls and boys ages 5 - 8 (as of January 1, 2010)

             You do not have to be a 4-H club member
             Each participant will model his/her garment in the 4-H Fashion Revue the evening of May 7.
             Participation in Fashion Revue Judging, and 2 Fashion Revue practices also required.
              The judging is on April 29 and practices are on May 3, and May 7 (prior to the show).
              (Location of Fashion Revue and practices: Grace Lutheran Church)
             The Cloverbud Sewing Class fee is $15. There is no additional charge to participate in the
               4-H Fashion Revue.
             Location of sewing classes: NC Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center
              (Across from the ball fields in Jackson Park)
             The Cloverbud Sewing class may not be repeated, but if the child is 9 years old as of Jan. 1, 2010,
               he or she may sign up for a Beginner class.




                                             Cloverbud Sewing Class (ages 5 – 8)

                                                    4:00 – 5:30 pm (Thursdays)

                                        All students will make a colorful fleece vest.



Learn the basics of hand sewing and machine sewing, as you make a simple garment to wear and model in the 4-H
Fashion Revue!


             4-H will provide sewing machines, volunteer instructors, pattern, fabric and thread. The fee is $15.



Register soon. Space is limited, and will fill quickly. Please bring correct change or make check payable to: Henderson
County 4-H. Questions? Call Sue Janowiak at 697-4891. No phone registrations are accepted – you must return a
completed form, along with the registration fee, to North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Henderson County
Center in Jackson Park. Forms and checks may also be mailed to: Henderson County 4-H, 740 Glover Street,
Hendersonville, N. C. 28792. The deadline for our office to receive forms and fees is Thursday, March 25.
                         2010 4-H Fashion Revue
                        Important Dates and Locations




Friday, April 23     Before 5:00 pm - Turn in completed Fashion Revue Application (both sides)
                     and garment at the NC Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Center,
                     in Jackson Park. (Your garment will stay at our office. It will be brought to
                     the other location by 4-H staff).

Thursday, April 29   *** Beginning at 3:00 pm, by appointment - (ages 5-18) Fashion Revue
                     Modeling and Judging at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension,
                     Henderson County Center in Jackson Park.

                     Call 697-4891 and speak to Sue to schedule a modeling/ judging
                     appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, change into your
                     garment and model it for the judges, and then take the garment off and
                     leave it with 4-H staff until the night of Fashion Revue.


Monday, May 3        ***4:30 – 5:30 pm - 1st Fashion Revue Practice, Grace Lutheran
                     Church, corner of Hwy. 64 and Blythe Street. You will be having your
                     picture taken at this practice, so please arrive neatly groomed with your hair
                     brushed or combed. Change into your garment before having your picture
                     taken. At the end of practice, leave your garment with 4-H staff.

Friday, May 7        ***5:30 – 6:30 pm - 2nd Fashion Revue Practice - Grace Lutheran Church,
                     corner of Hwy. 64 and Blythe Street. Plan to change into your garment
                     after the practice, before the show.

                     ***7:00 pm - 4-H Talent Show and Fashion Revue, Grace Lutheran
                     Church, corner of Hwy. 64 and Blythe Street. (Invite friends and relatives!).
                     The Talent Show, featuring 4-H Club members, starts at 7:00 pm, followed
                     immediately by the Fashion Revue.

                     ***Important note: On each of these dates be sure to bring the correct
                     shoes and all accessories needed to complete your outfit!

                                           4-H Cloverbud Sewing Classes – 2010


This is a great workshop for young children who want to begin to learn how to sew. Each student will sew a simple
garment to wear and model in the 4-H Fashion Revue on May 7. The pattern will be chosen by the lead sewing teacher.
4-H will provide sewing machines, volunteer instructors, pattern, fabric and thread.


Location of 4-H Sewing Classes: NC Cooperative Extension-Henderson County Center in Jackson Park.
Please bring the correct change for your registration fee or make check payable to: Henderson County 4-H.
Space in the class is limited, and will fill on a first-come, first served basis. Names will be added to the class list upon
receipt of $15 registration fee and completed registration form. Partial scholarships are available for students with a
financial need. No telephone registrations are accepted. Return registration forms and fees to the NC Cooperative
Extension/4-H office in Jackson Park.
