Anaesthesia Fellow positions available with a focus on Cardiothoracic, Obstetrics, Pain or Simulation.

Experienced support and great training

Vacancies exist for Anaesthetic Fellows at Capital and Coast District Health Board (Wellington and
Kenepuru Hospitals) from 7th December 2009, and positions will be available with interest in
cardiothoracic, obstetrics, pain or simulation.

• An active educational program with high pass rates in Part 1 and 2 examinations for FANZCA
• A high-fidelity patient simulation centre, with a track record in teaching and research.

Our new regional hospital offers state of the art technology, and is a tertiary level regional referral
hospital for a population of 900 000. The hospital serves a challenging case mix including
cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery and paediatric surgery.

These fellowships are offered to provide additional training and expertise for those seeking subspecialty
training in Cardiothoracic, Obstetrics, Pain or Patient Simulation. The Cardiothoracic Fellowship will offer
supervised training in adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia, including transoesophageal echocardiography.
The Obstetric Fellowship offers experience in a tertiary unit with involvement in the antenatal high risk
clinic. You would also be involved with high risk caesarean sections such as placenta accreta, placenta
previa, and women with significant cardiac history. The Pain Fellowship offers training in acute, chronic
and cancer pain management. The Simulation Fellowship offers the opportunity to work with an
established and internationally recognised simulation group with a track record in teaching and

All Fellow positions are eligible for Provisional Fellowship Year by ANZCA. Applications are also invited
