Job Location: Corporate Headquarters

Job Summary: COMPANY’s Community Relations Function is the front line for corporate giving and
company-wide volunteerism. Community Relations is the primary vehicle through which COMPANY
contributes to non-profit organizations.

We are in the process of implementing a strategic plan for scaling Community Relations that will involve
managing the day-to-day activities of Community Relations as well as building out the infrastructure
through an online ASP provider and/or outsourcing to facilitate and track employee volunteerism,
employee giving and grant management, and in-kind giving.

Essential Functions:
 A Community Relations Manager with vision supported by leadership and management skills to
   engage employees in scaling COMPANY’s Community Relations impact globally. Scale our current
   program while incorporating our corporate values of simplicity and innovation. This position reports
   to Human Resources. At present, core responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Employee Volunteer Programs
 Engage employees and executives in Community Relations initiatives
 Manage all aspects of COMPANY employee volunteerism programs in Corporate Office and develop
  and partner with volunteer leaders in remote locations
 Develop new strategies, processes, guidelines, policies and programs to encourage and support
  employee involvement in the charitable sector
 Manage matching gifts program including managing COMPANY relationship with its matching gifts
  vendor, responding to all employee inquiries, developing appropriate vehicles/materials to promote
  the program, reviewing matching gift activity and providing a quarterly summary of activities
 Manage the Employee Volunteer Grant programs (for teams and individuals), reviewing applications,
  making funding recommendations and processing related requests
 Plan, build and manage a COMPANY employee grant program
 Inspire employees to lead volunteer events and provide back-up support as needed

Vendor Selection and Management
 Lead a cross functional team that will develop an RFP, evaluate responses, select a vendor and
   implement an ASP to facilitate and track employee volunteerism, employee giving and grant
   management, and in-kind giving.
 Manage ongoing relationship with vendor(s).

Communications
 Develop and execute promotional campaigns about philanthropic and volunteer activities
 Develop internal and external communications related to grants and programs
 Write and manage relevant internet and intranet content
 Develop collateral to promote COMPANY’s work in the community
 Work with non-profit organizations to enhance communication about COMPANY funded projects
 Represent COMPANY at public events, seminars, forums, etc.

Management of Grant and In-Kind Giving
 Lead cross-functional team(s) that will build out policy, process, guidelines for grant and in-kind
  giving.
 Manage portfolio of grants and non-profit relationships
 As needed, identify, contact and build relationships with key community organizations and leaders
 Manage the flow of incoming grant requests and conduct related follow-up, including scheduling of
  and participating in site visits or drafting declination letters
 Review grant recipient’s reports and prepare relevant reports on outcomes

Community Relations Team
 Lead the development of and serve as staff for a COMPANY Community Relations Team that will
  meet periodically to consider grant requests and scaling of Community Relations program on a
  national and international basis.

Other
 The Community Relations manager will be expected to perform other duties as assigned which may
   include work on special research projects, responding to inquiries budgeting, maintaining portfolio
   grant files and information on program partners.

Requirements:
 A minimum of 8-10 years combined experience in a program manager position within a combination
   of corporate or NPO (non-profit) with responsibility for program development or management,
   budgeting and evaluation/reporting.
 A minimum of five years as a Community Relations Manager in a high tech company
 Proven track record of inspiring executive and employee commitment to volunteerism and giving
 Proven track record of successful program management and/or program development
 Successful management of a process that includes requirement definition, RFP, selection and
   implementation of an ASP Community Relations solution such as Createhope.com
 Ability to attend community events which may take place early in morning or during the evenings
 Microsoft Office, some database experience preferred
 B.A. or B.S., MBA (preferred)

 Experience launching a charitable foundation
 Experience managing a $1,000,000 grant program
 Proven cross functional program management experience in building both policy and process
 Demonstrated passion for Community Relations
 Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
 Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
 Attentiveness to details, consistent and accurate follow-through on projects
 Ability to work well in a fast-paced, creative culture which blends elements of both non-profit and
   corporate cultures
