Oxfam Purpose               To work with others to overcome poverty and suffering
                            through the most effective and appropriate means.

Retail Purpose              To raise funds for Oxfam’s work.
                            Promote Oxfam’s values through the shop network.

Job Purpose                 To manage and develop the district shop network, its
                            staff and volunteers, primarily to raise funds,
                            secondarily to promote Oxfam’s values.

Reporting Line              Report to the Head of Retail

Has reporting to            Shop Managers, various volunteers and temporary
staff

Key Activities

1. To budget for, plan, manage and lead the operation of Oxfam’s district shop
   network, to achieve agreed targets.

2. To manage, motivate and lead staff in line with current performance
   management system.

3. To achieve retail standards and agreed performance targets in line with
   Oxfam Ireland’s retail strategic plan.

4. To advise and implement product needs to agreed strategy.

5. To devise and implement recruitment and selection for staff, and ensure
   volunteer needs for the district are met.

6. To ensure implementation of agreed activity for shops.

7. To deliver training in line with Oxfam Ireland’s retail department training and
   development programme.

8. To lead on specific projects for department as agreed.

9. To have responsibility for health and safety matters within the district in
    conjunction with the Head of Retail and shop manager.
10. Locate and open additional shops to increase the profitability of the district
    with agreement from the Head of Retail.

Comments:

This is a key management position for the Republic of Ireland, with a
responsibility for a number of staff and volunteers, geographically spread
throughout the Republic of Ireland. This is an extremely challenging position
requiring a dynamic, flexible and energetic manager with a commitment to
Oxfam’s values.

    Fixed term for 1 years contract

    36 hours per week

    Pay band: 9

    Salary: € 43,118 per annum

    25 days annual leave plus10 days bank/public holidays per annum

    Contributory Pension Scheme – 9% contribution by Oxfam Ireland and 5% contribution by
