Tesco Car Insurance is arranged by Tesco Personal Finance Limited and underwritten and administered
by Hibernian General Insurance Limited.
Tesco Personal Finance Limited (TPF) is a joint venture between The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc and

(VAT) number GB243852752. TPF is regulated as a credit institution in the UK by the Financial
Services Authority (www.fsa.gov.uk) under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. In providing
this service, TPF is a member of the Credit Institutions Ombudsman Scheme, and is required to comply
with the IFSRA Code of Conduct for Investment Business Services of Credit Institutions (Appendix 3)
TPF acts as an insurance intermediary in the Republic of Ireland, offering a range of life and non-life
products, as well as loans and credit cards. In arranging non-life assurance in Ireland, TPF acts as a
non-life insurance intermediary for: ACE Insurance S.A-N.V.; Financial Insurances Company Limited
(a member of the GE Financial Insurances Ireland Group); and Hibernian General Insurance Limited (a
member of the Aviva plc group). In arranging life assurance in Ireland, TPF acts as a life insurance
intermediary for: Hibernian Life & Pensions Limited (a member of the Aviva plc group) and for
Financial Assurance Company Limited (a member of the GE Financial Insurances Ireland Group).
If for any reason you have a complaint in connection with Tesco Car Insurance please write in the first
instance to: The Insurance Manager, Tesco Car Insurance, Unit 18, Avenue 5200, Airport Business
Park, Cork and we will have your complaint fully investigated by one of our Complaints Officers. We
will acknowledge your complaint within 14 days of receiving it and will provide you with regular
updates on the progress of our investigations. We aim to resolve your complaint as quickly as possible.
On completion, we will provide you with a written report of the outcome. If you are not happy with the
outcome, you can contact the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority on the consumer helpline at
1890 777 777 or the Irish Insurance Federation at (01) 410 4000. Depending on the nature of your
complaint, you may be entitled to take it to the Irish Insurance Ombudsman (01 662 0899) or the
Ombudsman for Credit Institutions (01 478 3755).
A Tesco Car Insurance policy is valid for one year from the date it is taken out. You can cancel your
Tesco Car Insurance at any time and we will return a pro rata share of your premium to you, subject to
the return of your insurance certificate and insurance disc. To cancel your policy at any time, contact
the Insurance Manager, Tesco Car Insurance, Unit 18, Avenue 5200, Airport Business Park, Cork.
Your policy and all relationships under the policy will be governed by Irish law and be subject to the
jurisdiction of the Irish courts, all communication in respect of this policy will be in English.
Hibernian - Hibernian General Insurance Ltd. carries on business at Haddington Rd, Dublin 4. It is
registered in the Companies Registration Office under Company No. 3319 and is registered for Value
Added Tax (VAT), registration no. 9E66299H. Hibernian General Insurance Ltd. is authorized by the
Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (IFSRA) as a non-life insurance company and is a
member of the Irish Insurance Federation (IIF) and subscribes to its voluntary code. Codes of conduct
are also imposed by the IFSRA and can be accessed on its website at www.IFSRA.ie.

Cooling off Period - Right of Withdrawal - A consumer has the right to withdraw from any
Hibernian policy within 14 days of the start date of the policy without penalty and without giving any
reason. The right of withdrawal may be exercised by notice in writing to your intermediary, or
Hibernian, quoting your policy number. Should this right be exercised, Hibernian will charge a pro-rata
premium for the period you are on cover. If the cover is motor insurance, the premium cannot be
refunded until the Hibernian Certificate of Motor Insurance and Disc have been returned to us.
Period of Insurance - Unless instructions to cancel are received the period of insurance in respect of
any policy held with Hibernian will be the period specified by Hibernian as such in the policy Schedule
/ Renewal notice.
You, the customer can cancel your policy by notice in writing at any time. Provided that no incident
giving rise to a claim has occurred in the current period of insurance and you do not cancel during your
first year, you will be entitled to a proportionate return of the premium for the unexpired period of
insurance. In the case of cancellation of motor insurance, you, the customer must return your
Certificate of Insurance and Windscreen Disc to Hibernian. Hibernian may cancel policies at any time
by giving you, the customer, 10 days notice, by registered letter, to your last known address. If you
cancel the policy during your first year (outside the cooling off period) the refund will be based on our
short-term rates. Our current short-term rates (which may change from time to time) are:
