Teen Court Notice To Appear This checklist will highlight the important things to remember prior to your Teen Court hearing. 1. Your Teen Court hearing date is scheduled for TUESDAY, ___________________. Defendants are required to appear for this scheduled hearing at 5:30 p.m. At this time, the following will take place: A. Check in with Teen Court Case Manager in the lobby of the Thomasville Road Traffic Court Annex. B. You will receive a copy of your brief, which consists of the arresting officer’s report and the statement you gave at your intake interview. C. You will have the opportunity to meet with your defense attorney(s). D. You will be brought before a jury of peers through the process of jury selection to ensure a fair and just sentencing hearing. Parent(s) or guardian(s) are required to arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. to accompany the defendant to his/her hearing. Parents, please be on time to prevent delays in the hearings. 2. On the night of your hearing, be prepared to provide the Teen Court Case Manager with the following information regarding the Community Service site you have chosen: _____________________________ Community Service Agency ______________________________ Contact Person/ Supervisor’s Name __________________ Phone Number 3. Your dress is a reflection of your attitude! Please be advised that although you do not have to wear jackets, ties, or dresses, clean clothes are required. No shorts, crop tops, tank tops, bare feet, sandals, hats, etc. Since you will be in the courthouse from 5:30 p.m. until possibly as late as 8:00 p.m., you might want to have dinner early or a snack. If you have served community service hours prior to you hearing or have completed an apology letter, please bring appropriate documentation with you on the night of your hearing. Remember, if additional charges are brought against you for any criminal offense during your involvement in this program and/or before completion of your sanctions, you will be terminated from the Teen Court Program. Also, if you do not complete all sanctions imposed by the Teen Court jury by your specified completion date, your case will be sent back to the referring agency for further legal action. 4. 5.
