 The attached hiring procedures for summer school and camp employment will pertain only to the following program:

                                                        ELEMENTARY
 Included is an application along with a listing of courses offered during summer school. Courses that are eventually chosen for
 summer school are dependent upon student enrollment.

 HIRING PROCEDURES
 • Applications are to be completed and on file in the Board Office by Friday, March 28, 2008.
 • Hiring of elementary staff will first involve the attempt to provide a full schedule for teachers. To assist us in this endeavor,
    candidates must identify all of the courses they feel qualified to teach.
 • Interviews for elementary positions will be conducted as needed. Further information will be provided at a later date
    regarding the time and place of interviews.
 • Salary: Summer school teachers on contract with Millard Public Schools will be paid at their hourly rate for teaching and
    planning time. Summer school teachers who are not on contract with Millard Public Schools will be paid at the hourly rate of
    $20.39 for teaching and planning time.
 • Planning time will be paid at the rate of one hour for every five hours of teaching.
 • Notification of teaching assignments will be made beginning May 5, 2008.

 AVAILABILITY - All classes are from June 9 - June 26, 2008. All classes are offered at Neihardt Elementary.

SITES AND DATES
Teaching assignments will be made by the Summer School Administrator. Neihardt Elementary will be the only location for
elementary summer school. Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays June 9-26, 2008. Students enroll in the class
matching their grade level in the fall of 2008.

ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING DAYS
Curriculum pickup/meeting will be at Neihardt Elementary, May 13, 2008 from 4:30-5:30PM.
Teachers report for a planning day from 9:00AM - 12:00PM on June 6, 2008.

*   Salary: Summer school teachers on contract with Millard Public Schools will be paid at their hourly rate for
    teaching and planning time. Summer school teachers who are not on contract with Millard Public Schools will be
    paid at the hourly rate of $20.39 for teaching and planning time. Teachers may be paid for reteaching students for
    a maximum of two hours beyond regular hours each week.

*   Planning time will be paid at the rate of one hour for every five hours of teaching.

*   Notification of teaching assignments will be made beginning May 5, 2008.

   There are a variety of summer school programs being conducted within the Millard Public Schools system this coming summer.
   Some Educational Paraprofessional positions will be available. If you are interested in applying for a paraprofessional position,
   please complete the attached application form and return it to Jeanine Beaudin at DSAC by March 28, 2008. The salary per hour for
   summer Educational Paraprofessionals will be a current employee’s normal hourly rate. A new employee hired specifically for
   summer school will be paid $9.50 per hour. The salary per hour for summer secretaries and hall monitors will be a current
   employee’s normal hourly rate. A new employee hired specifically for summer school as a secretary or hall monitor will be paid
   $11.51 per hour.

   Preference will be given to those who are currently working in the buildings that will have a summer school program along with
   past experience as a paraprofessional during summer school.
