Searching for Current Job Vacancies This document provides step-by-step instructions for searching for currently available vacancies. You can also use the Job Search Agent to set up your own search criteria for job requisitions. The Recruitment Online system will then notify you by email when vacancies meeting your search criteria are available. NOTE: You don't need a résumé on the system to search for vacancies. in Recruitment Online. This You will frequently see the magnifying glass symbol indicates that there is a list of options available for selection. Where there is a long list presented after clicking the you will also have the option searching for possible entries. You can also sort all lists by clicking the underlined column header/s. For example, if you select LGA (Local Government Area) in the Location Preferences below, a list of all Victorian LGAs will be returned. Click Region at the top of the Region column to sort in alphabetical order so that the LGAs for each region are listed together for easy selection. Action If already registered as a user, sign on to Recruitment Online. Then, on the Applicant Home page, select the View Job Postings link. If not a registered user, simply go to the following page and click on the View Job Postings link.: View Job Postings NOTE: If you do not sign in you will need to do so to apply for any of the vacancies listed. 3. Click the Job Category option you are interested in. It is strongly recommended that as a minimum you specify the appropriate Job Category you are interested in. Multiple categories can be selected. All other criteria are optional. Entering Location Preferences 1. 2. To enter location preferences (optional), click the Search By list. Select your preference of Region, LGA (Local Government Area) or School from the list. Step 3. 4. 5. Action Click the Look up button to view and select the available options. In the Search Results table, click on a link to select your desired option. To enter multiple location options, click the ‘+’ to the right of the symbol and repeat steps 2 to 4 for each additional option. Keywords in Job Description 1. The system will search the Job Description entered by schools for word/s entered into the Keyword field. It is generally better to use the other criteria options. Other Miscellaneous Criteria 1. Job Title allows you to specify the Classification Level of the position you are interested in. Classifications are specified in the Certified Agreement for the Job Category. More information on Classifications is available on HRWeb. Click the Employment Type list to limit your search to Ongoing, Fixed Term or Student Practicum employment. Click the Full/Part Time Status list to limit your search to either of these options. Minimum Salary – Not all job postings will have a specified salary range. Choosing the minimum salary requirement may restrict opportunities that are available to you. 2. 3. 4. Subjects/Duties (Competencies) 1. 2. Selecting the Competency Category opens a further search field where you can select the following categories from a list: • • • • Principal SSO Duty Teaching Teaching/SSO When you have made your selection/s, click the Look Up button 3. 4. In the Search Results table, click on a link to select your desired option. The Level field allows you to specify year levels for teaching positions. Step 5. Action To enter multiple Subject/Duty options, click the ‘+’ to the right of the symbol and repeat steps 1 to 4 for each additional option. Searching 1. 2. Once you have entered all your search criteria Click the Search button. The system will then return a list of all currently available vacancies meeting the criteria you have entered. You can re-sort the order that the entries appear in by clicking the link a column header. To access the full Job Description for a listed vacancy, click on the link in the Posting Title column. When you have viewed the job description, use the Return to Job Postings link at the bottom of the page to return to the list of vacancies. 3. 4. Applying for Jobs Step 1. Action To apply for any of the vacancies, either: • • click on the Add to Job Basket link at the end of the job description, or click the Check Box in the Job Basket column next to the vacancy or vacancies. 2. Once you have selected all the vacancies you want to apply for, click the Apply for Jobs in Basket button. The Key Selection Criteria for the vacancy or vacancies will then be emailed to you. NOTE: If you have not signed in you will need to do so to apply for any of the vacancies listed.
