Cover is underwritten by ACE European Group Limited (ACE). SCOPE The Studentguard Travel Insurance Policy provides mainly personal injury, medical, personal belongings, money and disruption cover for any trip outside the insured person’s country of domicile to attend an academic course run by an educational establishment in the United Kingdom and Eire (including incidental holidays in Europe up to a maximum of 7 days) taken within the Period of Insurance. All insured persons must be under 70 years of age on the date the trip is booked and must not be professional sportsmen or professional entertainers. DURATION Cover under the cancellation section commences as soon as the cover is purchased or when the trip is booked – whichever is later. Cover under the other sections commences as soon as you leave home on the first day and ends when you reach home on the last day of the trip. SIGNIFICANT FEATURES & BENEFITS Personal Injury - €24,750 for death (8,250 in respect of policyholders aged under 18 years), permanent total disablement, loss of one or more limbs, loss of sight in one or both eyes Medical – up to €€1,650,000 for medical expenses. Unlimited emergency repatriation expenses. Supplementary travel and accommodation expenses - up to €€8,250 ACE Assistance - 24 hour multi lingual emergency medical assistance service Personal Belongings - up to €€1,238 (limit €413 for valuables/€413 any one article, pair or set). Personal Belongings Delay - purchase of essential items up to €165 after 12 hours delay (please note that emergency replacement toiletries and clothing may be purchased immediately after this time – please keep all receipts of purchases) Money - up to €413 for Money and Credit Card Misuse (limit of €165 for coins and/or banknotes) Emergency Replacement of Passport – up to €413 Disruption – up to €8,250 for any one journey for Cancellation/Curtailment/Alteration to Itinerary Travel Delay – 33 for the first 12 hours delay and €33 for each subsequent 12-hour period (maximum €1,650) Missed Departure - up to €825 Personal Liability - up to €650,000 SIGNIFICANT EXCLUSIONS There are some situations for which the insured person is not covered. These generally involve anything the insured person already knows about or that are caused by deliberate or illegal acts on the part of the insured person or whilst the insured person is outside Europe. The most significant exclusions of this policy are set out here. Claims due to the following causes will not be paid: • persons aged 70 years or over (General Exclusion 1a) • losses occurring during trips outside Europe (General Exclusion 1c) • you participating in aerial pursuits, winter sports, air travel other than as a fare-paying passenger, hazardous activities or travel on a motorcycle over 125cc (General Exclusions 2b & 2c) • consequential losses of any nature (General Exclusion 3) • medical expenses in the country of domicile (Section 2 Medical Specific Exclusion 7) • unattended valuables unless suitably locked away (Section 3 Specific Exclusion 2) • loss or theft not reported to the police within 24 hours (Section 3 Specific Exclusion 4 ) There may be other exclusions which are significant to you. CANCELLATION You may cancel the policy within 14 days of the commencement date of cover by writing to Gibbs Denley Insurance Services. If this happens, the policy will have provided no cover and any premiums paid will be refunded to you provided you have not booked or taken a trip. CLAIM PROVISIONS In the event of a claim you should download a claim form from the Web Site (http://www.course-u-can.com) and send it to the Accident and Health Claims Department, ACE European Group Limited, Ashdown House, 125 High Street, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 1DQ (tel: +44 (0) 1293 725830, fax: +44 (0) 1293 725845), quoting your full policy number, as soon as possible after becoming aware of anything likely to result in a claim.
