THE SCHOLARSHIP

1. Introduction
The ANU College of Business and Economics offers the Treasury Scholarships in
Economics (‘the Scholarship’) annually to an Australian citizen who is admitted to and
continues to pursue a program of study in the Bachelor of Economics Pass Degree
      (Third Year).

For the purposes of the Scholarship, a full-time program of study is deemed to be 24
units of study per semester. The Scholarship is not available for mid-year entry.

2. Provisions
The Scholarship provides an amount of $5,000 for the year in which the Scholarship is
awarded. The Scholarship is payable in two equal instalments, one to be paid at the
commencement of semester one and the other at the commencement of semester two,
following the Census date for each Semester.

3. Award Conditions
The Scholarship is awarded on the condition that the Recipient is admitted to and
continues to pursue the full-time program leading to the award of the degree of
Bachelor of Economics Pass Degree (Third Year) under the conditions as set out in the
offer for the program and the letter accompanying the offer of the Treasury
      Scholarships in Economics.

It is the Recipient’s responsibility to determine the taxation implications of the
Scholarship, if any, which apply to his/her individual circumstances.

The University reserves the right to make no award or to award the Scholarship at
      other times in exceptional circumstances.

The Scholarship may not be shared.

Current Treasury staff (including those on Leave Without Pay) are ineligible to apply
      for the scholarship.

4. No concurrent holding of another equivalent award
The Scholarship is awarded on the condition that, during the tenure of the Scholarship,
the Recipient is not in receipt of another equivalent award from the Australian
National University to undertake the proposed program.
