                   STUDENT SUCCESS:
Where to go after Grade 12? This is a question that weighs heavily on the
minds of most school seniors. But, for Emma Cooperthwaite it was a matter of
finding the right course. Knowing that Sydney was the place to be for future
performance opportunities, she looked for a university in Sydney that offered a
Bachelor of Music - Majoring in Music Theatre.

Emma found the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and after applying for an
audition she began preparing the required criteria. For the audition Emma had
to sing two songs, perform a monologue and dance a choreographed routine.
After an anxious wait, a very excited Emma was offered a position in this highly
acclaimed institution and is mastering her craft under the guidance of career Emma Cooperthwaite with
professionals and working artists. She is enjoying her studies and is working teacher Karyn Clark
hard to accomplish what she set out to achieve in her early teens. Well done
Emma, we miss you!

                ENSEMBLES: CHOIRS AND SMALL GROUPS
With the increase in students as QAVA expands there has been a higher demand for various vocal
groups and choirs. It is with great excitement that we introduce the re-commencement of our musical
theatre vocal group. This group was a great success last year and we are excited to include musical
groups as a permanent fixture of the singing week. Musical theatre combines three important aspects
involved in good musical productions; Singing, Acting and Dancing.

QAVA is in discussion with local Choreographers and Acting Coaches who will work with these
groups on an ongoing basis. As part of our holiday program this holiday we will introduce some of the
song repertoire for both the Senior Music Theatre Group and the Junior Music Theatre Group. This is a
free introduction to QAVA Musical Theatre that we are sure you will enjoy so please stay on after
theory workshops. Book now for our first vocal group, by email. If you are a student of QAVA you are
welcome to come along to this free introductory lesson, times listed below.
