Volunteer Campground Host
Campground hosts greet visitors and provide them with park information. This position runs May through September and provides a full-service campsite (individual electric, water and sewer hook-ups) in exchange for 20 hours per week of light maintenance service for the park. A free annual Colorado State Parks Pass is issued after 48 hours of satisfactory service. There are also positions available in the primitive campgrounds, but these sites have no hook-ups. • • • • • •

Seasonal Park Ranger
Duties:
Provides information to park visitors Conducts environmental interpretation programs Provides enforcement of Parks and Wildlife laws and regulations (NOTE: this is an unarmed commissioned position) Performs land patrol, water patrol and water safety enforcement Issues passes and permits and accounts for collected revenue Performs general and special project maintenance duties Provides necessary written reports and documents Other duties as assigned

Several seasonal jobs will be available at Navajo State Park this summer. These jobs begin in March, April or May and may extend up to six months. Some positions are for pay and others are Volunteer positions.

Volunteer Naturalist
The volunteer naturalist position assists park staff with the Environmental Education program by researching, developing and presenting interpretive programs to park visitors and school groups, conducting nature hikes and campfire programs in the park amphitheater and assisting park staff with the implementation of a self-guided interpretive trail system. This person also maintains and makes suggestions for additions to the park’s environmental library. Environmental Education experience is preferred but not required. Onsite housing is available to those from out of town (no pets, please). A free annual Colorado State Parks Pass is issued after 48 hours of satisfactory service.

Seasonal Maintenance Worker
Duties:
• • • • • • General maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment Operation of power tools and equipment General custodial duties for buildings and grounds Must be willing to work weekends and holidays Other duties as assigned

• • • • • • Must be at least 21 years of age Must have obtained at least a high school diploma or GED Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record Good written and verbal communication skills Applicant must have no pending felony charges or felony convictions Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts, including night shifts

Volunteer Park Aid
Park aids may help with wildlife programs, nature walks, children’s programs, etc. They may also assist with pass sales, office work or light cleaning in the Visitor Center, or may assist rangers with boat patrol. Pay Rate:
• • • $10.00 to $11.00 per hour (40 hours per week) Job-specific training will be provided Housing is available, if needed (no pets).

Seasonal Entrance Attendant

Seasonal Revenue Supervisor
Duties:
• Performs many of the same duties as the seasonal entrance attendant. Supervises entrance attendants in absence of full time supervisor Supervises accounting of revenue Prepares monthly revenue reports May assist marina personnel with marina accounting and contracts. Other duties as assigned

Duties:
Provides park information to visitors Responsible for issuing necessary passes and permits Responsible for collection and accurate accounting of revenue Many duties include use of computers Answers telephone inquiries and maintains radio communication with field staff Performs general cleaning and maintenance of Visitor Center Performs general clerical duties and other duties as assigned Sells books and other bookstore items Sells fishing licenses and completes accurate vessel registration Other duties as assigned

Seasonal Marina Attendant
Duties:
• Performs daily marina operations, including gasoline & retail sales; vessel launch & retrieve; vessel sewage pump-out; shuttle service to and from mooring field; marina facility maintenance. Other duties as assigned. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Seasonal Maintenance Supervisor
Duties:
Supervises up to five seasonal maintenance workers Provides general maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment Operates power tools and equipment with skill and safety Performs general custodial duties for buildings and grounds Consults with Resource Tech concerning maintenance problems and projects Provides necessary written reports Other duties as assigned
