Enrolment Process
ENROLMENT PRIORITY
Sacred Heart Catholic School enrolment priority is at the discretion of the Principal and is as follows:
• Catholic students from the Parish with a Parish Priest reference
• Catholic students from outside the Parish with a Parish Priest reference
• Other Catholic students
• Siblings of non-Catholic students
• Non-Catholic students from other Christian denominations
• Other non-Catholic students
REGISTERING FOR ENROLMENT
In order to register a student for enrolment, an Enrolment Application must be obtained from the School Office
(available on the school website www.shpsh.wa.edu.au The enrolment form must be returned with a $50 application
fee and all relevant documents. The Enrolment Fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee enrolment.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Interviews are conducted with the Principal. Prospective Kindergarten students and their families are interviewed the
year before they are due to commence school.
ENROLMENT DEPOSIT FEE
The prospective student and parents will be interviewed and if successful, a letter of offer will be given. To confirm
placement, a non-refundable Enrolment Deposit Fee of $100 is payable within 7 days of an offer of a place.
This is deducted from the following year school fees should you go ahead with enrolment.

The charges outlined below are expressed as the ANNUAL FEE, which you may expect to pay for your child’s
education at Sacred Heart Primary School.

Pre Kindergarten is not a Government subsidised program. Sessions are charged at commercial rates and payable by
terms.
Insurance, Sacramental Program, Camps & Swimming Fees are charged to families during the school year and are
subject to change.
Catholic Church Insurance $17 per student
Sacramental Programs for Yrs 6, 4 & 3 are $30 per student
Camp Fee will be advised to families early 2010
Swimming Fee $75 per student Years 1-6
AMENITIES CHARGE
An amenities levy is charged per annum, $220 per student KG-6.
It is charged in Semester 1 and payable Term 1. This charge covers photocopying, class consumables,
sports equipment, library resources and other items which are supplied as part of the regular curriculum.
TECHNOLOGY LEVY
A Technology Levy is charged, $50 per student Kindergarten, $95 per student PP-6.
It is charged over two Semesters.
EXCURSION & INCURSION LEVY
An Excursion Levy is charged, $40 per student Kindergarten, $80 per student PP-6. This covers things such as
excursions, incursions (at school), guest speakers, transport, performing arts, sport events, venue entrance fees etc.
It is charged over two Semesters.
BUILDING LEVY
A levy to assist with financing the debt servicing of existing buildings is charged at $150 per annum per family and is
charged over two Semesters.
INSURANCE
The School has a Student Accident Insurance Policy with Catholic Church Insurances covering all students during
school hours and for school-organised events after hours (the cost for this is included in the school fees Insurance
Levy). It is a 24 hour/365 days a year policy. However, parents are advised to have additional private health

SPECIAL EVENTS
Parents will be notified in advance if their students will be involved in special events such as Confirmation Retreats. A
separate fee will be charged for these when they occur. They will be payable within 7 days of when they are billed.
PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
Fee accounts are sent out at the commencement of each Semester. Payments can be made by Semester within
7 days of receiving the account or made by Terms within 7 days of receiving accounts. Methods of payment are
below. Alternatively payments may be made by Direct Debit on a monthly, fortnightly or weekly basis from your
nominated bank account (form available from school office).
BPAY
Telephone and Internet Banking - call your bank to pay your account quoting
our Biller Code and your Reference Number.
EFTPOS
Various bank or credit cards are accepted for prompt payment at the school office.
Hours 8am – 3.30pm (excluding American Express and Diners Club).
Mailing your Payment
Tear off the remittance advice and send your cheque/money order to the
School Office at 40 Mary St, Highgate WA 6003.
Paying in Person
Present the remittance advice with your payment to the School Office during office.
Hours 8:00am – 3:30pm.
HEALTH CARE CARD TUITION FEE DISCOUNT SCHEME (HCC)
This scheme assists all families that hold current Family Health Care & Family Pensioner Concession cards that are
valid during Term One of 2010. The discount is on tuition fees only for Kindergarten to Year 6 students only. All
amenities, levies and special events will be charged at full rates.
The 2010 HCC Tuition fees will be:
Kindy Annual Tuition Fee for Kindy $200 per annum
Years PP - 6 Annual Tuition Fee for $200 per annum
1st Child
Applications must be made at the School Office (please provide your current Health Care Card).
Please note that normal sibling discounts on Tuition still apply for PP-6 students only.
FAMILY FEE ASSISTANCE
For families who do not qualify under the HCC Scheme but believe that they may experience financial difficulties with
their fees, assistance is available through application to the Principal. It is necessary within 14 days of receiving the
school account for the family to contact the School Office and make an appointment with the Principal to discuss fee
arrangements.
WITHDRAWAL OF STUDENTS
The Principal must be given a full term’s notice in writing prior to the student’s withdrawal. Without such notice,
the school reserves the right to charge a term’s fee in lieu of notice.
