Letters – Thank You Letters 2008
Letters – Thank You Letters
Why • A thank you letter demonstrates thoughtfulness, a characteristic for which employers are looking. • Very few people write thank you letters so the writer will be remembered. • This gives someone an advantage over other interviewees who do not take the time to write. When • After receiving information, advice, or a referral from a contact • Immediately after interviewing for a job • After receiving a job offer Do's and Don'ts • Type a short, to the point letter and make it look professional • Write and mail within 24 hours of the interview • Thank them for their time, and express a continued interest in the company • Do not try to clear up any points not made during interview
