BCG31103 Certificate III in Steel fixing

  QUALIFICATION DESCRIPTION

  This qualification is relevant to any person wishing to gain a trade qualification to be a steelfixer.

  COURSE DURATION

  2 years, full time

  ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

  To be eligible for this traineeship, the applicant:

Must pass basic numeracy and literacy testing
Must have an employer with a level III qualified employee to supervise.

  APPLICATION PROCESS

   Apply to the New Apprenticeship Centre (NAC) Go to: www.newapprenticeships.gov.au and contact a
   NAC.
   Choose a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
   The NAC will notify the RTO upon signup
   The RTO will contact the employer for signup of training plan
   The RTO will contact the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (BCITF) for further funding.

  SKILLS RECOGNITION EXEMPTIONS/ TRANSFERS

  Students may be eligible for exemptions/ transfers on the basis of proven previous qualifications attained
  and/or recognition of prior learning/experience.

 To obtain this qualification all fourteen (14) core competency units and three (3) elective units must be
 achieved.

  ASSESSMENT METHODS

  Units are assessed by various methods including: theory, practical, oral questioning, log books, Task
  sheets and demonstration (simulated and realistic).


  MATERIALS

  All trainees when attending the RTO must supply own PPE (hard hat, safety boots). Course materials and
  stationary will be supplied when attending training at the RTO.


  QUALIFICATION

  On successful completion, students will be awarded a Certificate III in Steelfixing.


  FEES AND CHARGES

  Tuition Fees are calculated on a basis of $1.22 for each nominal hour of the training. A tuition contribution
  per year applies and is dependant on the core and elective mix chosen for the qualification.
