Holman Travel Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance POLICY SUMMARY The purpose of this Policy Summary is to help you understand the insurance by setting out the significant features, benefits, limitations and exclusions. You still need to read the Policy Wording for a full description of the terms of the insurance, including the policy definitions. This Policy Summary does not form part of the Policy Wording. Insurance Provider This insurance is provided by AIG Europe (UK) Limited and underwritten by New Hampshire Insurance Company. Purpose of the Insurance This insurance cover provides financial protection and medical assistance for your trips. Significant Product Features, Benefits and Exclusions The levels of cover which apply to your Policy are set out in the Schedule of Benefits table on page 1 of your Policy Wording. Certain Sections of your Policy carry an excess of either £50 or £150 which means that you have to pay this sum per person per incident if you claim. You can pay an additional premium to upgrade your Policy to include an excess waiver in which case all references to an excess of £50 will be reduced to nil. The table below sets out the significant benefits and exclusions of your Policy. The Policy includes many other benefits, conditions and exclusions. Please read your Policy Wording to make sure that the cover is suitable for you. The Significant Conditions And Exclusions Policy Reference Important Information ‘Health’ page 2 and General Exclusions page 4 No. (1) and Definitions 'You', 'Your' Page 3 Medical Conditions existing prior to purchasing or renewing this policy You will not be covered for any claims arising from or resulting from a trip you take if: q the claim relates to a medical condition, injury or symptom of which you are aware or which has required treatment, medical consultation or investigation or prescribed medication, affecting you at any time during the two years prior to the commencement of cover unless the claim relates to one of the medical conditions listed under the Health Section on page 2 of your Policy Wording and you meet the criteria set out in the Health Section. This also applies to the health of any person who may not be travelling with you but upon whose well being your travel may depend you are travelling against medical advice or with the intention of receiving medical advice or treatment you are on a list awaiting hospital treatment you have been given a terminal diagnosis your claim relates to pregnancy or childbirth where the pregnancy would have been more than 24 weeks at the start of or during your trip q q q q The Significant Conditions And Exclusions Policy Reference Important Information ‘Eligible persons’ page 2 General Conditions page 4 No (1) Age Limits You must be 65 years of age or under at the date of departure. Residency You must be a permanent resident in the United Kingdom and have not spent more than six months abroad during the year immediately before you bought or renewed this policy. You must contact the Insurance Broker who your Policy was arranged through if you are planning to participate in certain sports or activities and there is a high risk you will be injured as cover may not be available. You may be covered when participating in certain winter sports if you have paid to extend your cover. Dangerous Activities Important Information ‘Dangerous activities’ page 2 Definitions ‘Winter sports’ page 3 Important Information ‘Law’ page 2 Law and Jurisdiction This insurance will be governed by English Law unless you reside in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, in which case the law applicable to that jurisdiction will apply. The Significant Covers Significant Features and Benefits Policy Limits and Exclusions Applying to Significant Covers To be able to claim, the medical treatment must be required in an emergency and be unable to wait until you have returned to the United Kingdom. Medical cover does not apply if the trip is taken within the United Kingdom unless travel is to the Channel Islands. An excess of £50 per person, per incident applies. Policy Reference Medical Expenses. Up to £10,000,000 Provides cover for costs arising in the event of illness, injury or death during the trip and where necessary the provision of emergency medical assistance. Schedule of Benefits page 1 Section C - Medical and other expenses page 5 and 6 The Significant Covers Significant Features and Benefits Policy Limits and Exclusions Applying to Significant Covers To be able to claim, the reason why the trip is being cancelled or cut short must be necessary and unavoidable and must fall into one of the reasons listed in the Policy. For example, if a person insured under this policy becomes ill or is injured or dies. An excess of £50 per person applies. Policy Reference Cancelling or cutting short your trip. Up to £5,000 Provides cover for travel and accommodation expenses which you have paid for or have agreed to pay for under a contract and which you cannot get back if you cancel or cut short your trip. Up to £1,500 Provides cover for your own personal belongings if they are lost, stolen or damaged during your trip. To be able to claim, a written report is required to support the loss/theft/damage. For example, from the local police or from the transport company. The amount payable will include an allowance for wear and tear and loss of value. Your policy has a limit of £150 for any one item (this includes a set or pair). Your policy has a limit of £300 for valuables overall (which includes £150 cover for each single valuable item, pair or set). Schedule of Benefits page 1 Section IA Personal belongings and baggage page 7 Definitions 'Valuables' page 3 The Significant Covers Significant Features and Benefits Policy Limits and Exclusions Applying to Significant Covers Your policy has a limit of £100 per person in total for thefts or losses of property from unattended motor vehicles. Personal belongings must be kept under your control or the control of the airline or transport company and not be left unattended in a public place. Valuables are not covered unless they are kept in your hand baggage whilst travelling. An excess of £50 per person, per incident applies. Policy Reference Definitions 'You, your' page 3 Your Personal Money. Up to £500 (which includes a cash limit of £300 or £50 if aged under 16) Provides cover for money and traveller's cheques lost or stolen during your trip. In the event of a claim, you will be expected to provide evidence of ownership and value. To be able to claim, cash must be carried on your person or be in a locked safety deposit box. A Police report must be obtained within 24 hours to support all claims. An excess of £50 per person, per incident applies. Schedule of Benefits page 1 Section IB Personal Money page 7 Period of Insurance You have purchased an Annual Multi Trip policy which means you can take as many trips as you like during the twelve month period shown on your Travel Insurance Schedule provided each trip lasts no longer than 31 days (or 62 days if an additional premium has been paid by you to upgrade your Policy). Cover for winter sports is provided for up to 21 days within the period of insurance. Trips taken in the United Kingdom are covered provided you have pre-booked at least 2 consecutive nights paid accommodation away from your home address. Cover for cancellation begins from the start date shown on your Travel Insurance Schedule or from when you book each trip, whichever is the later. For trips booked during the period of insurance but not due to commence up to 120 days after the twelve month period shown on your Travel Insurance Schedule has ended, the policy must be renewed for cancellation cover to still be in place. Cover for all other sections begins from the time you leave your home address in the United Kingdom, or from the start date shown on your Travel Insurance Schedule, whichever is the later. Cover under your policy ends on the date you return to the United Kingdom, or to the end of the period shown on your Travel Insurance Schedule, whichever is earlier. ‘Cooling-Off’ Period and Your Right to Cancel Your Policy If this cover does not meet your requirements, you may return the policy documents to the Broker who issued you this policy within 14 days of the cover starting or the day on which you receive the policy documents, whichever is the later. We will refund all premiums paid within 30 days from the date we receive the notice of the cancellation from you. If however before your request for cancellation within the 14 day period you have travelled or made a claim, only a pro-rata amount of the premium will be refunded.
