APPELLATION BAROSSA VALLEY WINS RESTAURANT & CATERING SOUTH AUSTRALIA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE 2008 AS BEST REGIONAL RESTAURANT 28 July 2008, Adelaide, South Australia --- Appellation, the intimate 28-seat casually elegant restaurant in the Barossa Valley, was named category winner as the ‘Best Regional Restaurant’ at the Restaurant & Catering SA Awards for Excellence 2008 annual gala dinner at the Adelaide Exhibition Centre tonight. On hand to accept the award, Mark McNamara executive chef, Karen Roesler head chef and Ruby Stobart restaurant manager all acknowledged the consistent effort by the team of more than two dozen staff at Appellation in reaching new levels of excellence in the restaurant’s just completed third year of operations. Chef McNamara remarked, “We are pleased to have been accorded this recognition by our peers in the industry, and look forward to the continued expansion of regional dining experiences in South Australia.” Over the past year, a unique wine-paired Best of the Barossa Tasting Menu has been added to complement the restaurant’s well-known, seasonal, à la carte menu. The à la carte menu varies nightly and the signature Tasting Menu changes each month, offering a range of dishes created specifically to pair with a selection of distinctive wines that represent a theme or subregion within the Barossa. Both menus are available nightly, and a popular Sunday Lunch service has recently been added.
