Helpful Job Search Hints
1.
Have a “One Minute Mini-Speech” about yourself and your job/career plans ready to repeat whenever and wherever asked. (this is often referred to as a quick “elevator speech” about yourself)
2.
Have a recent and updated copy of your Resume ready at all times.
3.
Keep a list of current References (including company, occupation/title, address, telephone, years known, etc.) in writing to hand out at interviews. (-and make sure your references know that you are giving out their names)
4.
Carry proper Forms of Identification (such as: driver’s license, social security card, immigration card, government program card) to interviews. (in case copies need to be submitted as forms of proof)
5.
Find out about the Company (type of business, products/services, future plans, etc.) before going on the interview. This will show that you are interested.
(this can be done on the Internet, at the Library or even by word of mouth)
