power for the 3KW inverter to supply lighting,
communications and cold chain refrigeration.

Ian Woffenden, an associate editor of Home Power Magazine
has installed an AWP3.6 on a tower attached to the top of one
of the Redwood trees surrounding his home. Ian reports that
the AWP gives him twice the KWHrs that he gets from an
older Whisper 80.

Background.
Mick Sagrillo, renowned small wind turbine expert, writer and
President of the Mid West Renewable Energy Association, ran
the machine on his 60 foot test tower after giving it his customary
“strip down to pieces to see how it ticks” treatment. His
comments:
This is a very simple machine that does what it is supposed to
do. It is quite heavy duty and built to last a long time. The
turbine is easy to install with simple tools. I am most
impressed with the turbine’s slow speed and quiet operation.
It is refreshing to see that a modern wind generator can be
manufactured that is absolutely quiet in its operation.
This is a very nice machine. I only wish someone in the US
could build something as good as the AWP. We could use the
competition, to say the least. And the low speed reliability.
This is heavy metal, which is right in line with my ideas on
wind turbine design. Nice job!!!
