                                        Sanford Community Activities
                           (Get a “Taste of Summer” this week –Day Camp, Dodge ball, Tennis, Golf, Morning Camp, Arts and Crafts)

                                                   Monday, April 19th (Patriots Day)
                Week long “Day Camp” for children grades 1-6 – A fun, safe action-packed week is planned
                which includes arts & crafts, biking/boarding/scooters, gym activities, the circus, swimming,
                bowling and just plain fun. The program runs from 7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. High School
                Gym Side Doors will open at 7:30am Monday April 19-Friday April 23. Bring a snack and a lunch
                with beverage. Be sure to wear light jackets, we will be playing outside. Cost is $65/week + $15
                CASH first day of camp for field trips (circus-M, swim-T & Th and bowling-W). Registration form
                required. Get yours by calling 324-9130 or download from web site. (At the High School-Not CJL)
                Free Morning Camp for kids 6-12 years old today – Join us today at one of our neighborhood
                playgrounds for a Taste of Summer. Our staff will keep the kids busy from 9am-12noon at Benton
                Park, Carpentier Park and Springvale Park. Staff will be doing safe outdoor activities + arts and
                crafts. Just show up and try it for free today… Parents may stay or leave. Weather Permitting.
                Kora Shrine Circus Take the bus to the circus. Meet at 12 noon at the “High School” Parking Lot.
                Register by calling the Recreation office at 324-9130. Space is limited. $15/Adults, $8/Children 12
                and under, includes Transportation and Circus Admission. Return back to town around 5:00pm.
                (Show time is 2pm) Parents are welcome to go too.
                Rock N' Glo Bowl at the Bowl-A-Rama from12-2pm. Enjoy 2 hours of Glo Bowling, shoes and a
                slice of pizza and a soda for $12. Call 324-2401 and make your reservation today. This offer is also

                Swim 2:15-3:15pm at the YMCA. $2/swimmer. Call 324-9130 for reservations. Limit 50
                *Mini Golf and Ice Cream - 1-7pm at Mountain View Mini Golf on Rt. l09 by Shain's. Golf is
                $3/youth, $4/adult. You Must Let them know you are participating in the Sanford Recreation
                Activities. If Mini golf is not open– enjoy a discount for driving range. Adults must accompany
                children. After Golf go to Shain's of Maine and ask for "Jeff's Recreation Special"- $1 will get
                you a Small Cone or a Sea Dog Biscuit at Shain's!
                Family Dinner While you Bowl 4-7pm bowl at Bowl-A-Rama for $18/hour. Free Pizza while you
                bowl with your family. Adults must accompany. Reservations a must 324-2401

                                                          WEDNESDAY, April 21

                Free Dodgeball Open Gym – Kids 4th-8th grades. 10:30-11:30 at MCS School Gym.
                Special AM Glo Bowl – 9:30-11:30 at Bowl-A-Rama. $6/person.
                World Class Frisbee Show FREE – Meet at Sanford High School at 11:30am. We will have guest
                World Class Frisbee flyer Todd Brodeur of Bellingham, Massachusetts showing us a few tricks
                with Frisbee’s. Bring a Frisbee if you have one – put your name on it.
                Lunch/Dinner Out Wednesday 10:30am-9pm at Bonanza. Kids MEAL IS FREE with a purchase
                of an adult meal. 1 adult paid/1child free, 2adults paid/2children free, etc. etc. The salad bar will
                have pizza after 4pm. Spaghetti, meatballs, potato wedges, nachos, etc. etc.

                             THURSDAY, April 22– Earth Day - Recycle
       Free TENNIS LESSONS at Benton Tennis Courts for Kids 4-12 years – Get a Taste of Summer
       and see what our Tennis instructor, Katie offers during summer programs. Kids ages 4-7 meet from
       9am-9:30am. Kids ages 8-12 meet from 10am-11am. We have extra rackets. Bring a water bottle.
       Free GOLF Practice for kids 4th-8th grades– All skill levels welcome (Taste of Summer) – meet
       at Blouin Fields from 9am-10am and we will have clubs and balls to practice their swing.
       Par 3 Golf at Merriland Farms Golf Course grades 4th-8th – Leave from the Jr High Parking
       Lot at 10:30am and return at approx. 1:30pm. $10 includes golf and transportation. Call 324-9130.

                                              FRIDAY, April 23
       *FREE Bike Hike Start at the Jr High Parking Lot. The first bike hike will start at 11:00am and
       will be a 3 mile easy trail. Parents are welcome to join us. Bring a bag lunch and eat on the hill next
       to the School at 12pm (we'll have juice/soda and Bonanza cookies). The second bike hike will start
       at 12:30 and consist of a hard 5-7 miles on and off road. Helmets are a must! Gloves and water
       bottles a plus. Call the Rec office to register (324-9130)! FREE

                                          SATURDAY, APRIL 24
       Boston Trip to Faneuil Hall– Leave from the Jr. High Parking lot at 7:00am and return at 7:00pm.
       Enjoy a day in Historic B Town Shopping, eating or whatever. Drop off is Faneuil Hall or Boston
       Museum of Science. The Aquarium and other Museum’s are all within walking distance and or T-
       transportation. Cost is $20/person for transportation. Call the Recreation office at 324-9130 to
       register. Bingo & movie on the bus.

       Pitch Hit and Run, Saturday April 24 - Ages 7-14 using July 17, 2010 to calculate age. Boys
FREE   and Girls compete separately. Sanford Parks and Recreation will again be a local hosting site for
       the Pitch Hit and Run competition. It will be held at Goodall Baseball Park from 8:30am-12:30pm.
       Competition only takes a few minutes then you can go to practice, etc, etc. Register at the field.
       (Park is located behind Dunkin Donuts) This is opening day for Little League…

                                               Red Sox Games
                   Don’t be left behind. We have tickets for 3 games this summer.
                       They are going quickly. Bus + Game cost $65/person
