Appendix 3 -Room Utilisation Survey Guidelines for completion of the Room Utilisation Template: When completing the room utilisation survey using this template, you will need to follow these guidelines in order to ensure that your results are an accurate reflection of your room utilisation. 1: Room number Please insert the number by which the room is recognised 2: Room Name Please insert the name by which the room is recognised 3: Workplace area category Categories to be used can be found on the worksheet entitled workplace areas table. Please insert the correct category number for the type of room being surveyed. 4: Area per theoretical seat m2 The area per theoretical seat can be found on the workplace areas table worksheet. The appropriate figure for the type of space should be inserted. 5: Room area m2 Please insert the area of the room in square metres. 6: Actual number of seats The actual number of seats available for use in the room should be inserted in this box. They should be included whether they are occupied or unoccupied. 7: Sections highlighted in Yellow It is not necessary to insert any information into the boxes which are highlighted in yellow. These boxes contain formula which will automatically calculate the required information, based on information which has been included elsewhere on the worksheet. 8: Sections highlighted orange It is not necessary to insert any information into boxes which are highlighted in orange. These boxes contain formula which will automatically calculate the required information, based on the information which has been included elsewhere on the worksheet. 9: UtilisationUnder each of the weekdays, the numbers from 1 to 8 relate to a specific onehoou periods in the working day. The amount of seats being utilised in each session (headcount) should be inserted into the relevant box. Where there are no workplaces being utilised do not insert 0, instead leave the box blank.
