Rod Nockles has been in charge of online safety and security at leading social networking site, MySpace, since early 2007. He is responsible for educating the MySpace community about online safety, building partnerships with industry, governments and law enforcement agencies, and assisting the development of new technologies. Rod will give an insight into the latest developments in cyber safety, highlighting the issues raised by mobile technology. He will outline the challenges facing policy makers, law enforcement agencies and the community at large, from the advent of Web 2.0 and what the future may hold with Web 3.0. Prior to joining MySpace, Mr Nockles was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 2006 to study online safety and security internationally. He was responsible for Corporate and Regulatory Affairs for NetAlert, Australia’s national online safety advisory body and has held senior roles in the Commonwealth Government. Mr Nockles will give his presentation and take questions from 4.30 - 5.30pm. Drinks and canapés will be served between 5.30 - 6.30pm during networking.
