                 Free tax preparation allows Alaskans to
             maximize their refunds and minimize their stress

Anchorage, AK – Hardworking Alaskans leave thousands of dollars on the table
each year during tax season, but they don’t have to.

Tax rules and credits are complicated and the fees associated with rapid refunds
can cut into tax returns. Don’t leave money on the table. Beginning Feb. 2,
qualified Alaskans can have their taxes prepared for free by the experts from
AARP Tax-Aide at eight locations around Anchorage through the tax season.

Times and locations include:

Anchorage Senior Center
1300 E. 16th Ave.
9 a.m.-3 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays

Northeast Community Center
1251 N. Muldoon Rd.
1-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon-4 p.m. Saturdays

First Free Methodist Church
6th Ave. and Pine St.
6-9 p.m. Wednesdays

Spenard Community Recreation Center
2020 W. 48th Ave.
1-7 p.m. Tuesdays

CrossPoint Community Church
1920 W. Dimond Blvd.
1-6 p.m. Tuesdays
University of Alaska Anchorage

We cannot file your return if you or your spouse …
… are self-employed or own a business
… have complicated capital gains or losses
… have moving expenses
… have employee business expenses
… own rental property

Make sure to bring:
Picture ID
Social Security Cards for all family members
Dates of birth for all family members
All Income information, including W-2s and investment statements
Economic Stimulus Payment Notice
Copy of your 2007 tax return
Form 1098 (mortgage interest statement)
Child Care Credit
Student Loan Interest paid
Education Credit
Contributions to your church or charitable organizations
