This entire inviting script revolves around the concept of Green Lights and Red Lights.

ALWAYS DO IT ON THE PHONE – not face to face!
                              IN-AND-OUT in 3 minutes!
                        -----------------------------------------------

Greeting:
o “Hi _______, it‟s _______ here, do you have a minute to talk? Have I caught you
     at a good time?”
Red Light = when it a good time to call back?
Green Light = Great. I only have a minute myself.

Choose…
o I can‟t talk for very long right now, but this is actually a business-related call..”
o I‟m just about to go into a meeting, but I have a few free moments and been
meaning to give you a quick call..”
o I‟m just running out the door, but have been meaning to give you a quick call..”

Green Light = How are the kids/family/sports/job?
(FORM = Family, Occupation, Recreation, Money) Just choose 1 topic only!

Choose…
o “Anyhow, the reason I‟ve called is…, well, do you mind if I ask you a question? I‟ve
come across some new technology that everyone needs and no one has yet, and I
think we can make a fortune. Are you interested in looking at something?”
o “I‟m working on a new project to launch some new technology into NZ with my
business partner (e.g. an ex-lawyer or whoever) in the anti-ageing industry and I
believe it will be very lucrative. I‟m looking for some key people to work with and I
thought of you. Can I ask you a question?... Are you open to looking at something
outside of what you currently do?”
o “Hey, the reason I called is, I don‟t know if you know, but I‟ve been working on a
project launching some new technology into NZ & Australia. Can I ask you a
question? … Are you open to looking at something on the side (of what you
currently do)? … Are you looking for a new challenge?
o “If I could show you a way to diversify your income, without jeopardizing what
you're doing now, and it doesn't take a lot of your time or money, would you at
least take a look at it?”
                                                                                            1
o “Can I ask you a question?... What would happen if you had the exclusive rights to
the iPod of the skin care industry? Do you think there's any money in that?”
o “Can I ask you a question?... What would you say if you could have a product that
could shut down the escalator of aging? Do you think there's any money in that?

o Or if they are a close friend or family member – use …
 “I really respect your opinion so I‟d like to get your feedback”.

Red Light = “Ok ________, (repeat back their excuse to you…ie;)
     - so what you are saying is that you … aren‟t interested in looking at a business
which could give you a income potential of $10,000 p/mth – give them an income
that is great but not ridiculous to their ears.
     - “So let me confirm, what you are saying is that you are not open to looking at
anything even if there was $100,000 to be made?”
     - ______, I appreciate your time in this, before I go, can I ask you something? …
I understand the timing isn‟t right for you right now, so who do you know who
may be interested in earning $10,000 per month? This sometimes hooks them
back in or at least you may get a referral or two.
     - Look ________, no promises, it might not be up your alley, but at least let‟s
meet and then you can decide if it is for you or not.”

Green Light = follow on with options below….

Choose…
o “I‟m looking for a few key people to roll this out with me and I thought of you
because you are so ………… (Entrepreneurial, great with people, motivated…)
o “Well it‟s some great new technology from Europe – imagine the ipod of the
skincare industry. I‟d love to tell you more but you need to see it, so let‟s meet…”

Green Light = “Great, lets meet.

Choose…
o “My business partner is running an overview/demonstration this coming
Wednesday or Thursday” (always give two options)
o “Which is better… during the day or evening?” (use if you are meeting them personally)
… “Evening ok, how about this coming Wednesday or Thursday?”
or… “Daytime, ok, is morning or afternoon better? I can do Wednesday
morning at 10am or Thursday at 9am? Which works best for you?

 Once details (time, address etc) is discussed, then say, “Ok ________, I‟ve written that in
my diary – is it in yours?” I‟m having to juggle a few appointments around to get
there, (and I am arranging for my business partner to be there as well), so if
anything comes up I am going to need at least 24 hours notice. OK?
                                                                                                  2
 I‟m looking forward to seeing you then”
 On the day (or night before) confirm by saying, “Hi _____, looking forward to
     catching up with you today…
(then confirm by one of these comments…)
“Not sure if I mentioned but free parking is on the roof/outside etc.”
“Did we confirm 6pm or 6.30pm tonight?”
“Just confirming you received my email with the directions on how to find my
             place/café, ok?”
NEVER EVER say, are you still coming?

People may ask “what is it?” – there are 3 options:

   1. Reply: “It‟s visual, we need to meet so you can see it”

   2. Reply: “To be honest I don‟t have a lot of time right now to talk, but it‟s very
visual, and I‟d really like for you to see it in action before you make a decision of
whether it is for you or not. My business partner is running a overview this
coming Monday or Thursday – which suits you?”

   3. Reply: “I'd love to go into more details now, but to be honest I don't have time
right now to give you the full picture. But let me say, everyone wants it, very few
have it and I believe the timing is now with this product. Is tomorrow afternoon
          or evening good for you?

NOTE:
Never talk about the company like it‟s a third person and that you are „involved‟ – this reeks of
desperation and lack of ownership i.e. no urgency for them to turn up to anything.

Don‟t use words such as meeting or presentation as it sounds boring! People have been in meetings
all day! Prelaunch or overview sounds more exciting and interesting.
New venture or project also sounds better than opportunity…which has been done to death.
                                 -----------------------------------------------
