Statewide Chief Information officer (CITO)
UAF CITO (Same due to the UA consolidation/merger with UAF IT); UAA & UAS Chief Information Officers
Application Services (Enterprise Applications Services, Core Applications Services, MyUA, Information Architecture)
Provide enterprise and core application programming and contract management including, but not limited to: administrative computing, calendaring, electronic messaging, service management, web portal and content management, directory, identity management, authentication, and middleware.
Provide core and value add services for library and other UAF departments as requested. Provide web design services and online calendaring (recharge).
Infrastructure Technology Services (Telephone Services, Network Operations, Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, Security Administration, Technical Services, Windows Server Administration)
Provide stable, secure and responsive computing systems for system-wide applications. Provide phone installation and maintenance services. Maintain SW computer facilities and provide records management and printer services. Enhance, monitor, operate and maintain data, audio and video communication systems between all UA locations. Architect and design system-wide network (WAN). Respond to computing security incidents, manage computing security hardware and provide guidance for securing computer systems.
As a result of the SW-IT/UAF-IT merger departmental responsibilities apply to UAF IT as well. Engagement with various SW and MAU departments and functional groups for purpose of scheduling outages in support of hardware/software maintenance activities.

User Services (Campus Technology Services, Desktop Support Services, Support Center, Video Conferencing Services)
Provide thorough first line desktop computing support for SW employees. Provide first level technical support and coordination for all enterprise applications and core network systems. Provide infrastructure and technical support for video conferencing services. Develop and standardize project management practices. Build and maintain relationships with higher education and research organizations outside UA. Create and promote an overall approach to new and existing technology. Monitor and advise on regulatory and legislative issues in the IT realm of importance to the university. Develop and implement processes for review of new IT projects and regular review of existing services system wide.
Provide first level support to UAF (Desktops Support and Support Center). Provide support for academic technologies including smart classrooms and online course management systems (Campus Technology Services). Provide consultation and recommendations for departments investing in video conferencing equipment. Sharing of adopted best practices and participation in the development and maintenance of a project portfolio for overlapping or dependent projects between UAF and the system. Enterprise Architecture: campus participation in the development of principles, guidelines, standards and best practices. Coordinate annual Review and Remediation exercise; develop root cause analysis reporting. Consult other campuses and departments on new technology options. Work with external organizations on IT issue and technologies of interest to the university (i.e. Internet2).
