Creative Minds
London Forum for Arts in Mental Health
NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS Co Ordinator Post
Hello All, I’m Joanna Gore the new Co ordinator for Creative Minds. I am an artist and have worked in the mental health system as a facilitator and in collaboration with service users for ten years. The Arts Council England funds my post and I am based at TAP. I identify as a Mental Health System Survivor and am passionate about being part of an inclusive society. With this in mind I am interested in bridging gaps between ‘outsider’ and ‘mainstream’ creative activities. You may hear me being referred to as Doctor, this does not mean psychiatric in any sense! I am a Doctor of Philosophy, my research was in the Role of the Artist in Institutions and how art practice can change institutions and challenge notions of normality. My responsibilities are mainly to facilitate the Creative Minds Steering group, organise events keep the database and general admin of the forum, so if you have any questions or ideas let me know. I hope to send out a short quarterly newsletter of Arts and Mental Health events, organisations, activities, ideas, comments etc I would also love any creative contributions e.g. poetry, visuals, success stories, cartoons etc. Sorry! but for the moment these need to be emailed to me at the above email, please put Creative Minds or Joanna in the subject box.
