                   Distinguish between standalone and PC based control methods.

                (b) Sketch and explain differential amplifier. Also discuss its applications, limita-

            4. (a) What is brushless permanent magnet d.c. motor? Explain its characteristics.

                (b) An ac induction motor is rated at 1750 rpm with a line frequency of 60Hz. If
                    the motor is operated on a 50 Hz line, what will be its approximate speed?

                    input pulse? Why?

            8. When tuning a three mode control system by the ultimate cycle method it was
               found that oscillations began when the proportional band was decreased to 20 %.
               The oscillations had a periodic time of 200 sec. What are the suitable values of
