Recruitment of a Business Development Manager JADE Investigator
Business Development Manager with experience in the Law Enforcement Sector, based in London, to
develop sales opportunities initially in the UK for an established and highly respected international
software company. A product regarded as a major growth opportunity and likely to be of interest to a
self-starter with a solid track record of achieving revenue targets.
Jade Software Corporation is an international software company with offices in New Zealand, Australia,
the United Kingdom and the USA. The product, JADE Investigator, is already in use in over 40
agencies in 18 counties and 8 languages. It is marketed, sold and supported by Methodware, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Jade Software Corporation.
JADE Investigator is an integrated case management and intelligence application, which provides real-
time intelligence to front line investigators, helping them to manage case activities and visually identify
connections between seemingly unrelated information. A highly configurable and customisable product,
it can be made to suit the structure and work practice of any agency, be it compliance / fraud within the
Financial Services sector or the Law Enforcement sector.
The role of Business Development Manager represents a unique opportunity for the right person to
follow up and grow initial successes in deploying an internationally proven Case Management and
Intelligence Analysis application for law enforcement agencies within the UK and EMEA.
Prospecting. To use the market research provided by Jade / Methodware Marketing and
other appropriate sources to identify a list of organisations within the designated sectors and
markets that may need the JADE Investigator product and related services.
Qualification. To communicate with the organisations on the prospect list and qualify whether
they are likely to enter into a purchasing process that may result in the profitable sale of
products and services.
Sales Engagement. To manage the sales engagement process with organisations and their
agents that have entered a procurement process. To research the procurement process and
key personnel involved in the procurement process including procurement sponsors,
procurement managers, internal coaches, salespeople and gatekeepers. To develop
strategies to manage the sales process that take into account procurement process, regulatory
issues, organisational politics and key drivers for procurement. To communicate with key
personnel within the organisation to identify issues and objections, and to utilise appropriate
Jade resources to overcome those obstacles. To formally respond to approved Expressions of
Interest, Requests for Information, Request for Proposals, participate and manage sales
presentations, co-ordinate reference checks and site visits.
Documentation. To create and keep updated a strategic account plan, which will be stored
electronically in the approved shared directory on Jade s network and a continuous contact
record maintained within Methodware s CRM system. To maintain records and minutes of
significant meetings and communications held and maintain an accurate view of the pipeline
of sales opportunities.
Completing the Sale. To secure the sale with the customer and to effectively transfer
knowledge of the customer organisation, the drivers for procuring Jade s products and services
and issues raised by the customer during the sales process that pertain to the successful
delivery of the solution by project managers and other relevant internal parties. To negotiate
the licenses, service and support agreements, and terms of payment within the purchasing
Debrief. Through communication with the prospect organisation after the procurement
process is complete, to debrief marketing, management and other interested parties on the
reasons for the success or failure of sales.
Account Management. To manage the commercial relationship with existing customers or
partners, such that they remain satisfied with the products and services in order to maximise
the revenue from the customer.
Personal Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Demonstrated track record in Business Development in the Law Enforcement Sector with a
tenacious as opposed to aggressive approach and/or a full understanding of case
management and intelligence analysis.
A strong door-opener and relationship builder.
Excellent social & networking skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; experience delivering presentations,
writing bid proposals, keeping customers and colleagues informed throughout the sales
Solid track record of achieving revenue targets.
Ability to qualify sales leads with sharp business acumen skills.
Ability to balance sales and administration time.
Outstanding organisational skills, able to prioritise and self-manage without direction.
Willingness to work outside regular UK business hours for liaison with Australasian
Computer literate Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Able to utilise internet researching tools to best
