CASE # 256– It is proposed to alter the previously approved façade renovations at 409
Wyandotte Street OWNER: Larry Eighmy

The Commission upon motion by Mr. Lezoche and seconded by Mr. Ytsma adopted the proposal that
City Council issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed work described herein:

1. The proposal to alter the previously approved façade renovations at 409 Wyandotte Street was
   presented by Sean Burke.

2. New 2 over 2 double hung aluminum clad wood windows will be installed on the north façade of the
building as shown on the revised drawings. The windows must have Simulated Divided Lights with
spacer bars between the glass. All casing, sill, header, and muntin dimensions must match the front
   windows as closely as possible.

3. New aluminum clad wood 15 light French doors will be installed on the first floor of the north façade
as shown on the revised drawings. The Simulated Divided Lights must have spacer bars between the
glass. The pair of doors that are required egress doors may be metal.

4. A new concrete ramp will be installed along the north façade. The ramp will have a railing/guard as
shown with a traditionally shaped top rail.

5. The north façade will be stuccoed on the lower level with a projecting band above the proposed
awnings at the transition between stucco and siding. The upper wall will be sided with new vinyl
siding. The siding must be Wolverine (or equivalent) restoration quality, smooth siding with a 4”
   reveal and a matte finish.

6. Five shed style awnings with open ends will be installed above the new French doors on the north
   façade as proposed.

7. The west façade will be modified to have only one entrance door. That door and transom must be
placed at the previously approved location. The door is to be a ¾ light wood and glass door, sized to
fit the opening below the transom.

8. The transom glass on the west façade will be altered to be a square grid of leaded glass (each glass
piece 4”-6” in size) as fabricated at the former Alpha Graphics Building on Main St.

9. All other aspects of the west façade renovation will be executed as previously approved.

10. Revised drawings reflecting the Historic Commission’s recommendations must be received prior to
    the issuance of permits.

11. The proposed work was approved by a unanimous vote.
