Branches is a full-featured Windows ™ genealogy software program that solves the problem of
handling the large amounts of data found in genealogy and family history applications. Branches
combines database and graphics software to produce a modern approach to storing, viewing,
managing and sharing genealogy information. Branches allows all information in a genealogy
database to be viewed on one screen using techniques similar to Google Earth™, from a global
view down to a signature on a source document.
(Vocus) April 21, 2010 -- Sherwood Electronics Laboratories, Inc. announces the release of Branches, an
innovative new Windows™ program that uses advanced mapping concepts, similar to Google Maps,™ to
visualize relationships and manage family history records.

Computers are an indispensable tool for genealogists, both for research and for tracking data. Information about
billions of individuals and family trees is available online. Unfortunately, many of today’s computer software
tools are too complicated and do not help genealogists handle this information explosion. Traditional programs
fail to show relationships in a way that helps users get a complete picture of their genealogy.

Branches solves this problem with a simple graphical interface that lets users view their entire genealogy on one
screen, then zoom down to the smallest detail, like a signature on a birth certificate. This patent-pending family
structure shows all relationships: fathers, mothers, children, multiple spouses, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. at the
same time.

Jack Sherwood, one of the key developers, says, “Because of the visual environment, Branches makes it easy to
share data and collaborate with other researchers. Simply draw a box around the part of your tree you want to
share, and click ‘Export’. It’s that simple. Branches will even find photos and scanned documents, and copy them
to a folder so you can e-mail them along with the data file.”

You can see Branches at the National Genealogical Society conference, booth #926, in Salt Lake City, Utah,
April 28th through May 1st. A full featured, 30 day trial version of Branches is available for download at
www.branchesgenealogy.com.

Sherwood Electronics Laboratories, Inc. has been in business over 27 years and has developed numerous
hardware and software products for the mainframe, mini and PC computer environments.
