Degree Objective- This program will provide students with an understanding of history as a creative art, a subjective discipline
and an imaginative interpretation of the past. Students will learn communication and research skills, develop an understanding
of historical forces that have shaped social change and contemporary human problems, and develop an ability to analyze

            associate degree.
            5) General education courses can also be used to fulfill the general learning requirement.
            6) A minimum of 4 credits in Educational Planning required.
            * Of the 64 credits required for an associate degree, 16 must be taken at Empire State College and up to 40 can be transferred from other sources (college transfer, military credit,
            national testing). The additional 8 credits can either taken at Empire State College or transferred from other accredited institutions as part of the student's approved degree plan. A
            minimum of 4 credits in Educational Planning required.
