Resource Professional,

The Georgia Forestry Commission is organizing and hosting a series of regional workshops targeting
registered foresters, certified arborists, and others involved in the management, status, and risks of our
natural resources in Georgia. Our workshop in Statesboro, GA will be held on September 27 at the Georgia
Southern University Nessmith-Lane Continuing Education Building, more information can be found on
the agenda and directions/map located within this document. Continuing education credits will be issued
for registered foresters (6 hours – Category 1), certified arborists (5.5 hours), and commercial pesticide
applicators (4 hours – categories 23 & 27 and 2 hours private applicators).

These sessions will give you an overview of the GFC and the State of Our Forest Resources in Georgia, and
will give you a glimpse of many new program areas and issues of our agency. The instructors are in charge
of the various departments and will share information about what we do, how we do it, and what is new on
the horizon.

Our final session will be held at Unicoi State Park in north Georgia on November 8. You will receive a similar
announcement for this session. Please note that pre-registration is encouraged and space is limited. Lunch
will be provided on site.

If you have any questions, please contact Bonny Adams at 1-800-GA-TREES or email me at cbates@gfc.state.ga.us.

Sincerely,
Chip Bates
