Master Builders launch new service for builders and tradespeople
Northern Territorians will now have access to best-practice training provided by the Master Builders Association
of NSW, following a new agreement struck by the NT and NSW associations of the Master Builders.

“This agreement between our associations will enable Northern Territory builders to have access to the highest
quality nationally recognised training available and to enhance their skills and employment prospects,” said Paul
Lawrence, Training Manager, Master Builders NSW.

Rugby league legend Chris Anderson will today join the NT Training Manager, Jane Carrigan, and Paul
Lawrence in launching the initiative.

Mr Anderson is a former rugby league player and coach. Achieving success as a Kangaroos and New South
Wales Blues representative winger, Mr Anderson later became a coach, taking Australia to World Cup victory.
He coached both the Canterbury Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm to premiership wins.

Mr Anderson is currently the Master Builders NSW Certificate III training coordinator, providing advice to people
on how to get the right qualifications for a career in building.

“I’m delighted to be lending my support to this important initiative, which will help people gain the skills to get
started in the building industry,” Mr Anderson said.

Mr Anderson said that the alliance was in recognition of the current infrastructure works and the bright future
of building and construction in the Territory.

“Darwin has grown significantly over the previous decade and we are committed to providing the training
required to support future growth and prosperity in the region,” Mr Anderson said.

Master Builders NSW is a registered training organisation specialising in providing people with the skills required
to work in the building industry especially for licensing purposes.

“Master Builders provides the training required for tradespeople to obtain their Certificate III in a range of
different trades or at a business level within the Certificate IV in Building and Construction. This program is a
step towards becoming a licensed builder which is highly regarded throughout the nation,” Mr Lawrence said.
