                       2010 BLUEWATER FESTIVAL BATTLE OF THE BANDS
                                  RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Members of competing bands can be of all ages. No one is allowed to play in more than 2 bands, nor be
lead vocalist in more than one band.
2. PA will be supplied. Bands must provide their own instruments and stage amps. Including Drum Kit.
3. Performance times will be drawn by ballot at the pre-event meeting. Winning Band must be able to play on
Good Friday night. The nominated contacts will be advised of each band’s drawn playing time as soon as is
possible. Bands must report to the stage manager 1 hour before the drawn time. Times may vary on the day.
4. Each band will be allocated 40 minutes playing time. 15 minutes will be allocated per band for setup and
pack down.
5. Live music only – no pre-programmed music.
6. Band members are not to communicate directly with event judges. Any problem with sound or lighting
should be directed to the stage manager or sound / lighting technicians.
7. No stage diving, pyrotechnics, or any behavior that may endanger the audience or event participants. Abuse
of supplied equipment will disqualify the competing offender(s), who will also be held financially responsible
for any damage caused.
8. Performers are to abide by Battle of the Band rules at all times.
9. Only band members will be allowed on the stage and back-stage. Bands will be responsible for their own
equipment and event organisers and The Bluewater Festival will not accept liability for the damage or loss of
instruments during the event. All Band items/instruments and equipment should be labeled and identified with
band name.
10. Decisions of the judges are final, and no discussion will be entered into. These rules are designed to make
the event fair for everyone.
11. Band name must remain the same throughout the competition.
12. The successful bands will be presented with details of the contract before competing in the competition.
13. Contract must be agreed to prior to competing
14. Bands must be unsigned and unpublished.
15. Line up changes during the competition are not permitted, except in extreme circumstances and must be
approved by the committee.
Failure to comply may lead to disqualification from the event.

Video/Photography Consent

During the Battle of the Bands a photographer will be present to record the day. If you wish your band to be
included in this, please read and complete this form and have each band member sign below.
These photographs will be used for a number of purposes:
• To promote other events, particularly music events.. This may include internet, newspaper articles, news
stories and posters for future events.
I understand that:
• My photographs may be presented in a variety of formats including printed publications and electronically,
on the Bluewater Festival website or any other Web site specific to this event.
• My full name may be used in some cases to describe the content of the photographs.
• I will not receive any royalties from this event or for the use of my photographs.
I hereby agree that my photographs may be reproduced in print and electronic format for Promotional
purposes only.
