EGA09 is a four day outdoor conference made up of lectures, workshops, panel discussions, cinema,
performance, art and a drop of sound. Obviously an event like this only comes together with a lot of help
from a lot of people, and that’s where you come in!! Being a not-for-profit organisation means EGA relies
on the hard work and dedication from its volunteers to ensure that the conference is as smooth running and
organised as possible.

We are seeking volunteers for:

    o   Door Staff

    o   Info Desk

    o   Set Up

    o   Pack Down

    o   General duties

    o   Skilled Labour

    o   People with current first aid certificates

Your availability:
(EGA09 takes place over 4 days from the 6-9 November in rural Victoria, and if you’re serious about participating it is
important to keep these dates free. Also, there is plenty of work to be done in the days leading up to and after the event so if
you are also available to help out either side, please also advise)

Preferred type of work:
(Most volunteer positions will involve around 8 hours work. Please bold or highlight the position/s that interest you. We
will do the best we can to accommodate you in your chosen role).

    o Door shift Day (2 x 4 hour shifts to take place between 8am and midnight)

    o Door shift Night (1 x 8 hour door shift from midnight to 8am)

    o Set up (available to be onsite from 5 Nov if req’d for manual labour)

    o Pack Down (available to stay onsite to 10 Nov if req’d for manual labour)

    o General Duties (as req’d by area co-ordinators onsite)

    o Skilled Labour (Setting up domes, lighting etc. Please specify_________________)

    o First aid assistant to on-site medical staff (you must have a current first aid certificate)

Preferred work partner:
(We understand 8 hours is a long time to spend with a stranger if you are working a door shift, so if you have a friend who
is also applying for a volunteer position and you’d prefer to work together, please advise here)


Volunteering at EGA09
We will endeavor to notify all volunteers of their expected shift times and work type via email prior to the
31 st October, however things can change as unforeseen circumstances may affect the needs and demands we
have for volunteers.
Upon arrival at the conference you will need to report to the front gate and collect your welcome pack.
You will be required to pay $30 for a volunteer ticket. Your contribution will help cover to onsite costs.
For those amazing people who have purchased a ticket and still wish to volunteer anyway, thank you so much.
