              LORD GANESHA PRAYER


Shuk-lam-bara-daram vish-num shashi-varnam catur-bhujam

Prasanna vada-nam dhya-yet sarva-vigh-nopa shanta-ye



May one meditate upon Lord Vighneshwara, who wears a white
garment, who is all pervading, who has a bright complexion ( like the
moon), who has four hands ( representing all power), who has an ever
smiling face, for the removal of all obstacles.


                LORD NARAYANA PRAYER


       Shanta-karam bhuja-ga-shaya-nam

       Padma-nabham suresham

       Vishwa-dharam gaga-na-sadhru-sham

       Megha-varnam shubhan-gam

       Laxmi-kantam kamala-naya-nam

       Yogi-hrd-dhyana-gamyam

       Vande Vish-num bhava-bhaya-haram

       Sarva lokai-ka natham



Salutations to Lord Vishnu, who has a peaceful form , Adisesha ( the
coiled serpent) as his bed, a lotus from his navel, the Lord of the devas,
the supporter of the world, dark as the clouds, beautiful limbed, the
husband of Laxmi, who has lotus like eyes, who can be realized by the
yogis in meditation, who drives away fear, who is the Lord of the whole
world.


                SRI LAXMI PRAYER


      Namaste-stu maha-maye sri-pithe sura-poojite

      Sankha-cakra-gada-haste Maha-laxmi namo’stu te
Salutation to you , O Mahalaxmi, who is all power, who is the seat of

wealth, who is worshipped by the gods, and who has a conch, a disc and

a mace in her hands.

deities.

     Ramaya Rama-bhadraya Rama-chandraya vedhase

     Raghu-nathaya nathaya sitayah , pataye namah


Salutations unto Lord Rama , who is auspiciousness , who is in the form

of the shining light, who is the creator, who is the Lord of the Raghu

clan, the Lord of all beings, and the husband of Sita.




                   LORD HANUMAN PRAYER


Manoja-vam maruta-tulya-vegam jiten-driyam buddhi-matam varis-
tham

Va-tat-majam vanara-yutha-mukhyam sri- rama-dhutam sirasa
namami


Bowing my head, I salute Hanuman, who travels as fast as the mind and
the wind, who has mastered his sense organs, who is the best among the

intelligent, who is the son of the deity of the wind, who is the

 commander-in-chief of the vanara tribe, and who is the envoy of Rama
.




                   LORD KRISHNA PRAYER


    Vasu deva sutam devam kamsa ca-nura marda-nam

    Devaki parama-nandam Krishnam vande jagad-guram


I salute Krishna, the Lord, the teacher of the world, son of Vasudeva,

destroyer of Kamsa and Canura, and the greatest joy of Devaki.


                         GURU PRAYER


      Gurur brahma gurur vishnuh guru devo Mahesh-varah

      Gurus saksat param brahma tasmai sri gurave namah


       The guru is Brahma, the guru is Vishnu, the guru is

       Maheshvara. The guru is the ultimate truth.Unto that guru

       My prostration.

       Na tatra suryo bhati    na Chandra tarakam

       Nema vidyuto bhanti kutoyam agnih

       Tam eva bhantam anubhati sarvam

       Tasya bhasa sarvam idam vibhati




There the sun does not shine nor do the moon nor stars

There this lightning does not shine, what to talk of this fire

That ( Awareness) alone is shining, everything shines after it

By the light of that awareness, all this shines in various forms



Standing before the altar, you hold the light with your right hand,

With a circular clockwise motion, you show the light to the altar

With the left hand, you ring the bell and chant the aarti mantra




            Goddess Saraswati Prayer


Saraswati namas-tubhyam varade kamarupini

Vidya-rambham karish-yami siddhir-bhavatu me sada



Salutation to you O Goddess Saraswati, who is a giver of
          Boons, and who has a beautiful form ! I begin my studies.

          Let there be success for me always.



                     Universal Prayer


           Sarve bhavantu sukhinah

            Sarve santu nira-mayah

            Sarve bhadrani pash-yantu

            Ma kaschit dukha-bhag bhavet


         May all be happy . May all be free from disease. May all enjoy

         prosperity. May none experience sorrow.



                     VEDIC PRAYER


           Asato ma sad-gamaya

            Tamaso ma jyotir-gamaya

            Mrtyor-ma amrtam gamaya

            Om shantih shantih shantih


Lead me ( by giving knowledge) from the unreal to the real ; from
darkness ( of ignorance) to light ( of knowledge); from death ( sense of
limitation) to immortality ( liberation) ; Om. Peace, peace,peace.
