  Prepare a consultation plan (or refer to previous
  consultation undertaken as part of related/relevant
  statutory requirements)
  • How and who will consult with stakeholders
      during preparation of the RIAS?
  • How will the RIAS be made available to the
      public? Are there any agency
      communication/consultation protocols?

  Once data is available, analyse to assess impacts
  (positive and negative)
  • Identify options for solutions, mitigating
      strategies.

  Check that there has been coordination at inter-
  agency level, and with other tiers of government if
  relevant

  Prepare draft RIAS
  • Use template and “help” prompts available at
     www.ora.sa.gov.au follow links to Regional
     Impact Assessment Statements page

  Invite key stakeholders to provide
  feedback/comment on draft.
  • Gauge level of support for RIAS outcome and
       conclusions.

  Modify, edit and prepare final RIAS
  • Seek necessary approvals for public release
  • Include summary in Cabinet submission and
     attach document, if relevant (see Premier and
     Cabinet Circular 19).
  • Make available to public as set out in
     consultation plan.
  • Arrange for inclusion of RIAS Annual Report.

  Provide a copy to Office of Regional Affairs
