growing regions of australia, each adding another characteristic to

this stage with more black currant, blackberry, thyme, and plum

ruby and dark cherry hues. the aromas are both intense and elegant,

bursts with exotic high-note aromas of sage, violets, sandalwood, and

pinot noir . o’reilly’s . 05 . oregon . a fruit forward and full bodied wine.
aromas of dried lavender, rose petals, and crushed red fruit, with a
slight gamey edge. on the palate there are lots of cherry, raspberry and
strawberry. soft tannins and mellow spice combine with good acidity.

merlot . mantanza creek . 03 . benett valley . this wine begins with a
dark red ruby color along with a big, sweet nose of dark fruits
intermixed with espresso roast. true to the nose, this wine’s palate is
complex, layered an opulent, revealing gorgeously melted toffee notes
that complement the rich bouquet of black fruits.     $29

merlot . selene . 02 . napa . bueberries, raspberries, violets, dark
chocolate, white pepper, sandalwood, and pomegranate molasses are
among the aromas that pop out of the glass. flavors in the mouth
faithfully echo the aromatics. weight and extract are among the most
serious of past selene merlot vintages, yet the wine is not tight-fisted

of violet hue, the color of this wine invites the eye. the aromatics
express a very pure statement of cabernet franc, gentle perfume, slight
bramble and white cherry, laced with a touch of fine herb. the flavors
are a mix of sweet cherries and blueberries with a faint cedar
sweetness and spice. the finish has good, crisp ‘cherry pit’ acidity with

lemberger . shooting star . 04 . washington . from winemaker jed
steele comes a grape called lemberger, or blue grape of france. a faint
nose of ripe berries leads to a medium bodied wine with lots of blue
and red fruit, a creamy texture and soft tannins. this wine sees no oak
and is best served slightly chilled. can you tell me which baseball

grenache . qupe . purisima mountain . 04 . hillside grenache with a
touch of syrah create a juicy and spicy blend. flavors of wild cherry,
