THE RUSH When you hear his voice, Or see him where you hadn’t expected to. The feeling when your heart races, your throat tightens, And you force the air into your lungs. Your stomach flutters, Like butterflies wings, escaping the cocoon. And you feel like your tongue, is tied in a knot. And the things you should remember, you have forgot. He calls it “The Rush”! From when we first met. My face blushing, my mind rushing. I remember it so vividly. Will I see him again, will he call. Waiting, in nervous anticipation. What will I wear, it has to be right. He has to be impressed, when he sees me tonight. The warmth, and excitement. Loosing control…. your mind off track. Impossible to concentrate on anything at all. The clock ticks slowly, up on the wall. I was in a room, I heard the voice from outside I knew. I went out to confirm the face. You see, the voice was easy to trace. This man saw me, and we both knew. That the unexpected sighting, Gave us both “The Rush”. We stood staring, with our faces flush. Yes…. “The Rush”. And this feeling, still proves true. That after fifteen years together, I still get ”The Rush” for you.
